SO i have had my rtx 2080 xc for 4 months, everything was running fine and having no issues. Then last month first week of september I started running lower fps on GTA V and American truck sim. I used to run them on ultra graphics no problem still had high fps then last month they started running terrible and had very low fps and for the gpu i have it should have no problem running these games at high fps. but now i have found that whenever i restart my pc as soon as i start it up gta v runs fine. ATS still runs low fps though. So now if i want to play gta v i have to turn on my pc then restart it. Anyone know how I can fix this or what I should do?

Sounds like a program running in the background is causing the issue. See if performing a clean boot of windows will resolve the issue.

tried doing a clean boot. Did not work... every other game i play has no issue. just gta v and ATS.

Have you noticed did this start happening after an nvidia driver update and do you have the newest drivers installed?

You should probably be running the 436.48 which just came out a few days ago. If the old driver isn't solving it why not have the newest drivers then? Do a clean uninstall in safe mode using DDU and then a clean reinstall with the newest drivers and see what happens. Can't hurt i'm sure. There is also a 436.51 hot fix driver that was released as well. You can get it here. https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4876

Might want to try doing a system restore to a day when it was working without issues.

If you run a graphics benchmark, say for example 3D Mark, what kind of scores do you get? Can you also post your complete system specs to include make and model of PSU?

Ok so i ran a benchmark test on heaven benchmark. gpu is not overclocked... score of 2004.
System specs: intel core i7-9700k, motherboard MSI mpg z390 gaming edge ac, 16GB corsair RAM, Power supply: Corsair RM850x, GPU EVGA GEFORCE RTX 2080 XC.

Do you have X1 installed? What are your temperatures look like once you get in game?
You're using 2 completely separate PCI-e power connectors from your power supply, correct?

i had it installed, but uninstalled it to see if it would help but it apparently didnt. but when i had it it avg. about 55 degrees and yes i think so lol.

GPU starts out at about 1950 then after a minute it starts going up and down from 1230-1500....

and like i said i got it back in june and it ran these games with no problem. but first week of september i started getting these issues and have had them since all other games run good. just gta v and American truck sim have really low fps issues.

ok I think that helped a little, still goes up and down a little, but not as much. still very low fps tho. How do i check the Cpu while gaming. sorry feel like an idiot asking this lol.

Use core temp to log your cpu frequency while you're playing. Check the log after playing for 5 minutes to see what your cpu clock was doing.

Whenever you install a new driver, the nVidia CP will set your Processor and PhysX settings to "AUTO".
Look into nVidia CP and ensure those settings are set to your graphic's card.

Select your video card, RTX 2080, on your nvidia control panel settings as the primary graphic and physics and it should improve your situation.
