Coming in July this is a 2560 x 1080 monitor at 144 hertz. Display port 1.2 is included here. I assume that is due to the 2560 x 1080 resolution a Display port 1.4 was not needed.

    1080p does nothing for me. It's not even 32:9. It's just 21:9.

I just ordered the Freesync version, I will have it Saturday ($600).
    LG 34UC79G-B

    I also have a AOC Agon, so I'm going to compare or trade 1440p, 27", 16:9 for a 1080p IPS, 34", 21:9 display.
Both are Freesync, 1ms, and 144Hz.

Got my Freesync version today, packed up my AOC AGON, printed a return label, and I am keeping the LG.

So cool, great colors, and no tools needed.

My only Con is that it did not come with a USB B cable for the USB hub on the rear.
The no tools needed thing was awesome, just clicks together.
Also the OSD is a nice touch too.

I didn't feel the same way but side by side it wasn't a make or break deal for me personally.
The Agon was 1440 and the LG is 1080 but not as tall bc it's a ultra wide. If I had another 600 bucks to just blow I would get a 1440 ultra wide but for 50% more its not worth it to me.

Also in the games I play I can crank up resolution scaling to 150-200% and it looks great.
BF4 for example i turn to 200% and it's just so much better. And on my 1440p monitor n my opinion it didn't look better.

But I do get where you're all coming from.
I think what we all want to see are OLED displays soon.
