Looks like 2nd card have some serious issues, power status LEDs are all off, and display says "Overheat". I'd check each card first and power supply/connections to make sure its all fine. KPE Firmware has nothing to do with SLI, there are no relation in functionality for it.

The sli link wasn't properly seated . All works fine . I was asking about firmware out of curiosity. I do know a little bit a bit these cards .

Ya know something that kind of confuses me is why the LN2 bios is limited to 520 watts. When using LN2 the cards would be able to get well over 800 watts so i would think people are using the XOC bios with LN2 anyway. Anyone else have thoughts on this. Maybe i'm missing something in the math.

My guess, and I am not experienced so it is literally a guess, is that the LN2 bios is still limited for warranty purposes, as using the fully unlocked version could be detrimental to the GPU for inexperienced users.

Yeah but its made to use ln2 and make world records but yet its blocked from making world records at the same time unless ya want to void your warranty and use the XOC bios. Just still doesn't make much sense to me. I'm not using LN2 anyways but it just kinda seems off that kind of reasoning. But anyways the cards are just fun to mess around with for sure with the chiller and classy tool.

The ln2 vbios isn't specifically made for ln2 that is why it's still limited to 520. If you're going to be pushing for records you need to load the xoc vbios into the ln2 switch position as the ln2 switch position disables temp protection on the card when switched into that position.

Want to make records and retain a warranty? Does not compute.
The LN2 BIOS is for weekend warriors. Perhaps the name "LN2 BIOS" is too ambitious, but it appeases the weekend warriors.

LN2 BIOS name was due to historical reasons. Back during GTX 580 Classified, BIOSes were Normal and OC. Later we added LN2 with stuff unlocked for extreme overclocking. Back then you could take old classy card, flip to LN2 position, and it will get nice scores with extreme cooling. Since then the famous chip company implemented lots of roadblocks and protections to prevent overclocking and overvoltage outside of "safe" limits, and lot of restrictions applied on what BIOS ships with card. This happens to all card manufacturers, and most of them don't even bother to provide any means to push device further than official specifications :). Back to LN2 BIOS switch name, which is not truly LN2 today. This switch position and name kept same, as power users already got familiar with it. You could call BIOS positions "Normal, OC, more OC" for same purpose. I thought to call it XOC switch position, but then decided to keep it LN2, to put emphasis that this position is not supposed to be used for above-zero C cooling methods, because of disabled themal protection. Anyhow, people who actually do LN2 overclocking on GPU don't need explaining this, since today you gotta know what you doing and understand complex power/freq/thermal limitations and workarounds for them to successfully get any decent score. And many truly uncorking features are now only happen to be in unofficial unsupported versions, provided by good samaritans for pure educational and entertainment purposes, which come with fully void warranties to your device.

I have no intention of using XOC until my uni blocks come for both cards . They can both go on the chiller then , No intention of bricking AUS $7000 worth of GPU just to run SLI. For now , LN2 bios is fine with just the rads .
