As I've just received a notification for step 3 for a 12G-P5-3967-KR (which I did not expect any more) I'd like to ask your opinion. Step-Up Cost: 430$ incl. tax and shipping. So would you 3080 Ti owners recommend this upgrade?

Not a Ti owner here but I have the 3080 Ultra. Personaly when I looked on differences between 3080 and 3080Ti just on paper, I think the step up is not worth it. Tech blogs such as Gamer Nexus or Hardware Unbox further test and compare these GPUs and price per frame wise is totaly not worth it.
In my opinion, if you are happy with your non-Ti, dont go for Ti and invest the money into something else.

waste of money. you're spending $430+ tax/shipping, so like $500, for a 5-10% bump in performance. makes no sense. you got the best card of this gen when it comes to price to performance ratio. don't bother.

That's a tough call and on you. I know someone who went from a 3070 FTW3 ULTRA to a 3080 Ti FT3 ULTRA and loved the difference for a particular game but this comparison for you is much tighter.

3070>3080ti actually makes sense. difference in 4k is over 40%. 3080>3080ti is about 10%. in 1440p, the difference is about 30% and 5%, respectively. still a good upgrade fr 1440p from the 3070 but meaningless upgrade from a 3080

Not worth the upgrade but you also can't lose money buying the card and reselling it so take that as you will.

Don't forget you have to pay for shipping back of the old card and the shipping of the new one. Overall I don't think it is worth it.

The 3080Ti upgrade from the 3080 only really makes sense if you are gaming at 4K Ultra.
If you are, then yes I would recommend it. My wife's 3080Ti performs within 1-4 FPS of my Kingpin 3090 in every benchmark or game I've tried.

if you had a 3070, id say yes. otherwise no. what you have is more than enough!

Ditto here, 3070 to 3080 ti, the 3070 would not run my hp reverb g2, my 5600x is having trouble keeping up too, after my hrybrid kit install I'm going to try and get my hands on a 5900x. If your thinking about vr forget about benchmarks, buy the best you can afford. I wish I had a 3090 ti, but out of the budget. 5600x and a 3070 is fine for a flat panel, but I OC'ed the s*it out of both and still wasn't happy. Another tidbit, WMR sucks, oculus software integration (for the rift s they stopped supporting) is I'd say 1 year or 2 ahead of WMR. If you can buy the hybrid 3080 ti ftw3 do it.

The 3080Ti is an awesome card. That said, the step-up program is not exactly conducive to stepping up (some evil genius created it only to induce cognitive dissonance in customers)… So it is a tough call given the cost to upgrade. Did you also factor in shipping with insurance? This may really tip the scale…At this stage, if you are happy with the 3080 depending on your particular use, probably should pass. I had the 3080Ti, replaced with 3090, ultimately with 3090Ti. But I would hardly call this rational economics…

Whether a given card is "worth it" is totally subjective. You have to decide whether it's worth it *for you*. For me, I upgraded from the 3080 to the 3080ti and am very happy with the results, but I game on an LG CX48 (4k OLED). I've noticed something like a 15-20% increase in fps, depending on the game. For me, that was worth it, but it might not be for others.
