What is the point of even using SLI anymore? No games support it, it's dead. Is it only for doing meaningless synthetic benchmark runs?

SLI Kingpin and FTW3 Ultra and I- 10980xe pulling just over 1600 watts Time Spy Ex . Just got a new surge protector good for 1875 watts.  1600 watt psu and 1000 watt psu . This was the run. http://www.3dmark.com/spy/17669658

You running that beast off a 20+A circuit? If not, you may want to get your breaker box inspected before going much harder, because anything over 1800W should trip a 15A residential. This is assuming you're in the US. Either way, that's pretty beastly.

2400W, still not enough for 1600W + 1000W. There is conversion lose, so the actually power draw is (1600+1000)/0.9 =2889W (Assume Titanium power supply)

I didn't anticipate his fully loading both PSUs, but fair enough. Other system elements on the same circuit need consideration too, ie display, sound etc.

Just ran that time  with 1875 watt surge protector to see. All other times pulling power off 2 circuits  for both, 1600 watt with with motherboard and Kingpin and Ftw3 Ultra on 1000 watt psu different circuits. Monitor and others on another circuit. Don't want burn my house down.
