I am not really surprised by this since Jacob was a very visual part of EVGA graphics cards. It's something he was good at and something he seemed to enjoy doing. My guess is that with EVGA out of graphics cards another company came along and wanted Jacob to handle the social media for their company. 
 
I am sad to see him go but hopefully it's onto something else that he will enjoy doing and that builds off of what he built while working at EVGA.

Hate to see you go Jacob. Best of luck in your new chapter. Hope you find another job you love. Thanks for posting donta.

I wrote a critical post that eventually got deleted criticizing the CEO who he believed no one would take over the company and do it justice.  It's his baby he created and since he wants to retire, he's taking it down with him.  Roughly what I got from that GamerNexus interview from last year.
 
Can't believe this not too long ago healthy company has been dismantled by one person's ego.
 
Lets see if this post gets wiped.

It was allegedly sparked by NVidia's d-bag moves, but yeah, CEO didn't need to take the whole company down, could have let someone else take the reins, or negotiated with AMD or Intel - I'm sure either of them would have been thrilled to have EVGA's name associated with their GPUs. Was it Andrew who led to the departure of Shansmi(?) as well, who then ended up at ASUS I think? A lot of talent lost to the winds.

Very sad to hear this news as Jacob has been basically the face, heart & soul of EVGA to the public for ~17 years. This leaves little doubt in my mind that EVGA's days are numbered. So, so sad. I don't know if I'll ever buy a NVidia card again, they messed with so many people's lives in the name of greed, and they don't give a single solitary cr@p about it. I have a build to complete and I just don't have my heart in it anymore.

Shansmi made amazing boards.  Huge loss when he left.
 
Nvidia got greedy when they've been trying to phase out the AIBs by selling their own GPUs and being tight lip with them before releases.  The AIBs helped them get started and they've been left high and dry.
 
Hope Jacob gets picked up by Intel.  Hope Intel gives hell to Nvidia in the coming years.

Really going to miss Jacob. 

Jacob will be dearly miss is a great loss for the company but we all know where the company is going.
I have spoken to him via PMs in 2 occasions and he responded promptly and on point just like Darwin.
Jacob's professional, cool, laid back personality distinguishes from the rest simple as that.
I will show him and Pete support in twitch.tv.

I still have ' eVGA nForce 790 SLI ' video, that Jacob introduced on eVGA Youtube.

Saved for my eVGA 132-YW-E179-A1 study :)

CPU 0%OC, DDR3RAM2000+ C9 and SLI, That Mobo was fun.
