A 32" 4k monitor would have 137 PPI. A 27" would have 163. The higher the number the sharper the image.

pixels/inches - pixels per inch so - 27inch 2k has less PPI than a 32inch 4k now a 27inch 4k would have a higher PPI Asus PG27UQ – 144Hz 4K G-Sync so it has more PPI than a 32 inch 4k

My guess is, that's when a single GPU will be available to handle all of that eye candy at that res/hz or a few other conspiracy theories come to mind why they waited this long when its been a couple of years. Regardless, prepare to sell a pair of kidneys for one.

Hope they allow to purchase more then one GPU by then and SLI is brought back stronger. Only time will tell I guess. The pricing on these monitors are going to be ridiculous. They're going to sell you a $1000-$2000 screen that has 4K, that's been out for a while now, with a higher refresh rate. So in essence you're paying a ridiculous amount for higher Hz, HDR and some fancy gaming branded screen with possibly some RGB. We're all being gouged left n right. Screens, RAM, GPUs, etc. Maybe soon enough, they'll have RGB Chairs and charge x3-x5 of a regular premium gaming chair.

It seems rather coincidental that the late release of the monitors is also just slightly after release of the next gen NVIDIA video card for consumers.

The screen has everything... ips panel, 144 hz, 4k, g-sync & hdr. Only thing missing is ultra wide, but I don't care about ultra wide myself.

yea I am not concerned with ultrawide at all. This screen will have everything literally like Sajin says, and its suppose to be a Quantum Dot 4K HDR panel with a DCI-P3 colour gamut. I just hope the monitor base is sturdy, and that response time is minimal. With everything is has yes it will have a huge premium it is expected.

All monitors have a degree on back light bleed, never bothered me and ill take some "IPS Grow" vs the horrid colour and dim view of a TN panel. These are all minor trade offs ill take

A 'degree' of BLB is one thing, and if ASUS exercise some quality control this time around, great, but I guess you aren't aware of the huge problems they've had with recent IPS models, particularly the PG279Q - many people having to RMA 2-3 times before getting a reasonable panel. The QC has been atrocious, and that is not acceptable for an ~$800 monitor, at least not for most consumers. If you're willing to put down a pile of cash and accept poor quality, that's your choice I guess. Let's hope ASUS do a better job this time around. To be fair, the ACER Predator had similar issues - the panels came from the same source apparently, but ACER seem to have been a little stricter with QC - either that, or ASUS stopped manufacture a while back and are just cycling out returned stock...

I guess I am not up to speed on the issue. I currently have two Asus monitors on my desk. One I bought 3.5 years ago, PB278Q. Best monitor I have had to date. Along side a VS247H which has been a solid performer as well. Hopefully they get these new panels right this time around.

I have a PB278Q as well - excellent monitor, color accuracy is superb and crisp, overall it's flawless - purchased about 4 years ago. I only wish ASUS still made them like that. My Mrs uses that one now. I wanted to get a 144Hz model and tried to get a decent PG279Q through Amazon but they were really bad quality - after 2 RMAs I gave up and got a full refund. I ended up purchasing a used PG278Q through EVGA marketplace (which is also probably about 4 years old) - no issues with it whatsoever, and decent color despite being TN. ASUS just need to find a better source for their panels. As you said, hopefully they get these new panels right. Good luck.
