I managed to get a new PC not to long ago and I've been having some audio related issues. PC:- EVGA geforce 1060 6Gb
- Intel Core i5-7500 CPU 3.4GHz
- GA-H270-HD3
- Samsung T22B300 (TV)
So the problem is that sometimes when I watch a youtube video, or while I'm watching a twitch stream I lose seconds of audio (It doesn't happen when I'm playing, or at least I didn't notice). It happens randomly and I don't know why. I've tried to install the newest drivers but it didn't solve anything. I have the TV connected to de video card through HDMI.

EVGATech_AndrewA Have you tried to use a different HDMI cable or HDMI port on your TV? Have you checked the HDMI audio settings on your HDTV?
The TV only has one HDMI port and I haven't tried to change it as I don't have another laying around, but if it's the HDMI thats broken shouldn't I also experience the same problem playing videogames? But as I said It didn't happen or I didn't notice.

EVGATech_AndrewA On your TV settings do you have Dolby Digital?
Yes, but I do not have access to it.

EVGATech_AndrewA Try to see if you can see if it's enabled. If it is then disable it.
I think It is disabled because it's under another option menu wich I also don't have access, I assume that's because those options can't be turned on in the HDMI channel.

Oh, I didn't know it was a monitor, I've always thought it was just a TV. I am using the speakers of the monitor, it only has the HDMI connected.

Already did that but it keeps happening, I'll try again. It is quite a strange problem because it just happens randomly, as I said before. Sometimes I watch a 30 seconds long video and it happens 5 times, and then on a 2 hours video it happens none.

A few more ideas. Is the browser up to date that you are using. Have you tried the audio outputs of motherboard to see if the problem exist before the Nvidia driver receives it. Could try running the Playing Audio Troubleshoot. To open the troubleshooter go to the Start type Playing Audio Troubleshoot then select from the list of results. Could try another HDMI cable.

Thanks for all the ideas! Is the browser up to date that you are using.I think it is, I'll check it to be sure. Have you tried the audio outputs of motherboard to see if the problem exist before the Nvidia driver receives it. Yes, when I use headphones It doesn't occur. Could try running the Playing Audio Troubleshoot. To open the troubleshooter go to the Start type Playing Audio Troubleshoot then select from the list of results.Already did that, I've got a list where a bunch of the elements had a problem, but it was because they were disconnected (I saw some people with the same problem and having a lot of trouble dealing with it, but for me it doesn't do anything, they're just disconnected) and the one connected, after running the troubleshooter it says that it is nothing wrong with it. Could try another HDMI cable. As I said before I didn't do that because I didn't had another HDMI at hand, but if it's the HDMI thats broken shouldn't I also experience the same problem playing videogames? But as I said It didn't happen or I didn't notice. I'll try to get a hold of a different HDMI and try it.

It only happens with Youtube or Twitch and nothing else? And doesn't occur with the motherboard's audio but does when handled by the Nvidia driver over HDMI. Well this is a head scratcher.

Yeah. Thanks for all the help, but right now I think that is better to find a solution that will work for sure rather than searching for the problem itself, like not using the speakers of the monitor, etc A friend told me that I could try to connect the monitor to the motherboard with a jack and try to get the audio from there while I get the video form the HDMI, but I'm not entirely sure if it will work.

According to the manual on page 17 there is a PC/DVI AUDIO IN so you would need a 3.5mm stereo male to male cable. You may need to configure the monitor to get the audio signal to the speakers when on source HDMI?

Thanks for the information. I'm going to try that and if I can't make it work with the HDMI + Jack I'll try using a DVI to HDMI adapter and the Jack, which is also in the manual and should work fine.

Listen to those saying it could be the HDMI cable, it could quite possibly be. We've seen some weird stuff in the forums in regards to HDMI cables in the past, so I would suggest you try swapping the cable out with a known good, certified cable, and see if the problem persists. Yes it might seem weird, but at one time I thought an HDMI cable was an HDMI cable (digital signal and all that), and I was proven horribly wrong.

If you don’t have the 3.5mm audio extension cable you could always try headphones but you say it’s a random issue so it’s hard to say for sure.
Also does the same video always have the issue and if so does the issue show up about the same point?

In addition to trying another HDMI cable, I would recommend trying to play a video file locally on your system, to see if the same thing happens. If no such thing happens with local video, it could be a network issue.

Yeah, I will try another HDMI for sure. It's just that I've been using this one for quite the time and I never had any problems, but I don't discard the possibility that the HDMI is broken.

It happens randomly, if I'm watching a video and it happens at some point and then I rewatch the video, it doesn't happen at the same point or it directly doesn't happen. It's quite strange because, as I said, it's completely random and I have no indication of when it is going to happen.

It only happens on YT and Twitch, I've downloaded and watched movies, documentaries, random videos, and so on mainly to test it, and it never happened.
