I reinstalled win 10 I picked advanced I deleted the partition and clicked on reformat so after it gets done my desktop with the new install gad my same picture on it how can that be if I formatted it with the windows install.

    Make sure you have a backup of everything you need. Once that is done in your PC BIOs change this to boot your USB stick or DVD drive (whichever you use for Windows 10 Media). Save the changes and restart. For most PC systems a message will come on the screen asking you to press any key to boot from the media. Press a key. Then when the install actually starts you will first need to delete all partitions with your drive. Your system drive might have three partitions because Windows saves some emergency files to it. Once all those are deleted then you can make a new fresh install.

    I have done it 5 times now.
    My Practice is to only have ONE Drive connected to install the OS and once Completely Updated from all of MS Windows Updates I create a Windows 7 Image to a USB Drive.
    Then I add the rest of the hard drives and install games and whatnot.

    That's the way I did it but my background was still set up the same even though I had deleted the partitions and formatted the HDD I had to reinstall everything after but not my desktop background. Thought it was weird that it was still on there and not shure if it did a clean install..

    Do you use a Microsoft account as a login?  I believe that it syncs settings like that to the cloud...

    I use a custom red and black background with The Nerd on for the name I use when I am in game. And yes I use Microsoft log in for my PC that might be it.

    yes if you use a MS account with all the cloud stuff on it will save certain settings. kinda freaked me out once when it did that to me
