I have my another audio interface I use for my guitar, but it is aging. I was just curious if the audio input was music grade or am I stretching my expectations for the NU card?

The input for the NU Audio card has the ability to use Line-In with Up to 384kHz at 32bit. I'm not sure what interface you are using atm so I cannot compare for you. If you need more than the 384KHz/32bit than you may need to go with a USB audio interface if you specifically need PC connection.

Could you describe your setup and what component(s) you might replace with the NU Audio?

The NU Audio has Line-In and Mic-In jacks, of which Line-In is superior in terms of analog circuitry/layout and ADC (384kHz, 32-bit). If your equipment can send line-level audio to the sound card, then you should be able to get good results.

OTOH, Mic-In on the NU Audio is more basic (192kHz, 24-bit) and seems geared toward headset microphones rather than music production mics. The input is an unbalanced 3.5mm stereo jack and will not supply phantom power to a microphone that needs it. Also, a couple owners here have reported picking up electrical noise (from inside their PC) via the NU Audio's Mic input.
