Intel is promising “something big” at an event on September 2nd, where it’s likely to launch its 11th Gen CPUs. Intel mailed out hold the date messages to members of the press today, teasing a virtual event to show “how Intel is pushing the boundaries of how we work and keep connected.” The event will likely see the introduction of Intel’s 11th Gen Tiger Lake processors. The chipmaker first previewed these new 10nm Tiger Lake CPUs earlier this year at CES. Tiger Lake is expected to launch under the Intel 11th Gen branding, be limited to laptops, and include a new Xe architecture graphics architecture.

These chips will be the next iteration of Intel’s 10nm+ architecture that shipped on Ice Lake processors, and they should go head-to-head with AMD’s Ryzen 4000 chips that are based on a 7nm process. AMD has been breaking into laptops on multiple fronts this year, particularly thin and light gaming notebooks. AMD has proven it can compete on performance as well as price, and Intel’s 11th Gen chips look set to respond. Computex was canceled last month, but laptop makers like Acer have already promised laptops with Intel’s 11th Gen Tiger Lake chips will ship this fall. It’s now up to Intel to detail the all-important launch dates, performance, and pricing. It certainly looks like September 2nd will be when Intel is ready to talk a lot more about its 11th Gen processors.

I hope this announcement is worth the wait.

Specs: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X,  Corsair MP600 M.2, 64GB Corsair RGB Dominator,  ASUS Crosshair VIII Hero,  Corsair 1000D, EVGA RTX 2070 FTW 3

It's intel which has a pretty bulletproof stock. It doesn't go up very fast but it also doesn't go down much.

its all very great and all to see new stuff coming out...

but i must confess to you guys!
im worried. this covid 19 pandemic is affecting the economy A LOT.
i do not know how it is on the US
but here in Portugal the EU at Brussels expects for our country a negative growth from almost 10 to 12% next year

i don't understand much about economics but my GF has a degree in economics and says it is really really but REALLY bad... something nightmarish..

people here are already complaining that  the social security that cant keep up with the  "layoff help" payments in time etc..
a lot off delays and more delays and so they cant pay the rent in time.. cant pay the electric bill in time... pay the house mortage to the bank in time etc!

many companies closed.. really many - cause the help money that should have arrived by the end of MArch..only now was sent to most of the small companies!
and here 70% of the company tax income  that the government loves to "rob" comes from the micro/ small companies! ( the big companies "fled" to Holland and evade taxes)

i confess i love my 1080Ti and i was drooling for a 3080 ti.. but seeing this all around me... and the signs in front of my eyes... its a nope!
not in the next 3  to 4 years! cant risk it :)

i am sure many will still buy obviously
