So how s Intel last decade CPU design doing in sales🤣🤣🤣🤣 Kevin?
Its a new decade.lets talk about the present. Past is past. Right? No wait...those in denial like.living in the past😬

Somewhat competitive? AMD has the highest performing CPU right now. And it's cheaper. It's a hard time to praise Intel, at the moment.

Really?  I hadn't heard of anything that can beat an overclocked W-3175X.

The AMD 3970x consistently outperforms the Intel W-3175X. And cheaper.

Overclocked? Well that is subjective and depends on what you are comparing. A golden LN2-cooled W-3175X versus a non-golden 3970x, sure. But that's quickly discounted by comparing the vast majority.

Last time I checked Intel still has the vast majority of the processor market.  Why do you ask?

Aside from Intel's overwhelming dominance in enterprise and OEM, here's newegg's processor page sorted by best selling:

https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?N=100007671%208000&ActiveSearchResult=True&Order=BESTSELLING

Note that the 16 month old and best gaming processor on the market i7-9700K is the top seller.  Followed by the i9-9900K.

Here's B&H:

See a trend?

You didn't cite any sources, nor did you refute my claim.  Nothing on the market beats an OVERCLOCKED W-3175X, which is actually built to be overclocked.

So we'll be seeing AMD take over the 3dmark HOF any day now?

They pretty much have...

When the 3990x's drop the top scoring 3175x's on the hof will be done for.

This chip will most likely be vapor hardware. Auction only limited run like 9990xe or what ever that other unobtainable chip was...

Intel sells BILLIONS UPON BILLIONS of dollars of RELIABLE enterprise and OEM hardware every year.  They have their own fabs.  They are TEN times the size of AMD.

Fact:  Going from X299 to a 3900X on X570 is a downgrade.

So now AMD leapfrogs Intel's product, ONCE in the last decade, and Intel is finished, washed up, crap?  Don't make me laugh.

My thoughts exactly.  The problem here is, AMD fanboyism has gone off the rails parading as if it's a slam dunk when it isn't just yet.  Saying this doesn't make us intel fanboys.  Just realists as you already had to explain.  I'm sure we're glad that AMD has finally showed up to the batters box with a nicer bat but the question still remains if AMD can keep up or will Intel suck AMD's teeth in in the next few years.  I believe they could with the funds, fabs, etc. that they have.  A part me of thinks they purposely got into this position because of anti-trust laws because they have had too much market share and have been the top dog for far too long.

Fanboyism? Realists? You are the one displaying fanboyism ignoring the facts. Im.being realist by telling what other reviewers are saying.
CPU market has shifted.yet you dont see to comprehend that, not.being realists about what you read. AMD has taken 40% of the CPU market from the giant Intel and its Market share has increased. A realistic individual takes.the.news.good.or.bad as is you dont. You guys talking about the past im not.
You are discrediting AMD CEOs statement that they will have a GPU that matches.or even beats the 2080ti. How unrealistic can you be? Seriously?

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags!

I'm pretty sure Intel is about to try and adjust the market of their enthusiast line to move towards socket LGA3647. It's literally their only move to compete right now. If they make consumer level chips for that socket, it's going to be their way to battle threadripper.

They are going to have to go all in to leverage their server tech for both HEDT and enthusiast mainstream desktop unless they can get 10nm working in server by 3rd quarter, and ultimately both.

Nobody has real figures on that, only very limited anecdotal evidence that new 3rd gen Ryzen is selling well against Intel's 16 month old desktop cpu's in the DIY market.  Intel likely still owns 90%+ of oem and enterprise PC.  Not to mention server.

I will buy which CPU fits my budget and is the best in my opinion at the time I want to buy....right now it's AMD .....

Next time it may be Intel....

Buy what you want...and don't worry about what others buy or think.

It's all subjective about 'best'...regardless of synthetic benchmarks...numbers (in terms of CPU performance) aren't the end all be all...bang for buck also pulls weight.

and right now, I think AMD wins that.

It’s interested what AMD is putting out into the market - but I agree, it’s gonna take a few generations of RELIABLE performance to convince.

I have a Lenovo t-430 with an i7 from 8 years ago that still runs like a clock. It’s been quite some time since I last had an AMD build - it’d be unfair to say they haven’t improved - but BSOD and driver incompatible were the norm. Literally nothing worked.

I used to mine. Now I compute.

Interestingly enough my Brother, and 3 or four friends have Ryzen CPU's...none are exhibiting any issues (Just for your information...certainly not negating your experience.....as I've had nothing but issues with both ATi and AMD GPU's (and won't buy them because of that!))

Take the brand new E595 with (Ryzen 3500U and Vega 8 Graphics) laptops I'm selling - GPU driver error after I routinely install Windows and Lenovo's drivers through Lenovo Vantage. Instead, I have to uninstall the Radeon control panel, device driver and run Vantage again to install the AMD Radeon driver again.

No problems with Intel anything and if so, it's to RMA which is less than the number of fingers I have on one hand per year.

Some will argue it's AMD's GPU division. It doesn't matter, it's AMD. They never did fix their Catalyst 15.x issues for Windows 10.

Get your best bang for your buck, just hope you're not going to run into problems.

I won't buy AMD GPU's, but am not against buying AMD CPU's....

I've been exclusively Intel for over a Decade...I'm fine with that changing.

They are literally meme workstations.

🤔 the hardware may be anti-memes which explains Nazca having compatibility problems🤣🤣🤣.
80% of the time is the user not the hardware😾
Like transdogmifier said buy your own hardware your choice.

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags!
The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. When you abuse it, it reverses on you and it hurts you.The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

Meme workstations?

Sorry quoted the the wrong person.

Yeah, meme workstation.  Good for making memes, and being a meme of a workstation.

Atfrico, as a tech I know what I'm doing and have been doing it for years. It's not the user. Lenovo Intel counterparts have no such issue. They just work. There are other users with the same problem, so, AMD quality control issues are the problem (again). And, speak for yourself about us buying what we want since that's all you complain about thread to thread. 😂

No problem, Kevin.

No problem, Kevin.

🤔 i still question your logic. There are other brands worst than AMD carrying Nvidia products with issues and i dont see you complaining about those.brands. see where i am getting? And by the way.techs i know with experience and degrees are more open minded than the ones i know in this forum...😸

I can't take you seriously whatsoever. Their experience and my experience/education/reputation has no correlation. You're full of yourself and a troll and that speaks volumes. You have no credibility and you can deviate subjects all you want to focus on something else. You're just another person on the Internet who thinks they know everything, lol.

Why do you think I don't mention other brands wise guy? Fact: I don't run into nearly enough problems with other brands clearly. "See where I'm getting?" What?! Are you done? 👍
