Hello

I recently bought an i9-9980xe and I intend to buy a Dark x299.

I'm afraid to buy the x299 Dark and need to update the bios to recognize the processor.

How would you do that? Asus Rog is very easy, as I never used an eVGA motherboard I have this doubt.

Thank you!

If you buy the board directly from the evga store it should come with the latest bios. You could always call evga after placing your order and tell them to make sure the board has the latest bios loaded to it before shipping it out.

According to EVGA's site, BIOS 1.12 was the update that added the 9980xe (And it's lower iterations).  The BIOS was released on 10/26/2018 so any x299 Dark sold by EVGA should be good.  I recently bought my x299 Dark from EVGA's strore and it came with BIOS 1.17.

My 9900X worked even with the release bios so you should be fine as the 9980XE is a soldered 7980XE.
