The company is reaffirming its plans to launch 13th Gen Core Raptor Lake CPUs in the second half of 2022. Intel will release desktop series this fall and mobile series by end 2022. This means that mobile Raptor Lake will launch sooner than 1 year after Alder Lake mobile.
We are building on Alder Lake leadership with Raptor Lake in second half of this year and Meteor Lake in 2023 […] To date, we’ve shipped well in excess of 35 million units of Alder Lake. Within the current market, we are also seeing relative strength in the premium segments we serve across consumer and commercial. We expect to build on this momentum with the launch of our next-gen product family – Raptor Lake – starting with our desktop SKUs this fall, followed by our mobile family by end of year. The Raptor Lake family will offer customers significant advantages, including doubledigit performance gains gen-on-gen and socket compatibility with Alder Lake. And in 2023, we will deliver our first disaggregated CPU built on Intel 4 – Meteor Lake – which is showing good health in both our and our customers’ labs.
— Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger on Q2 earnings on July 28, 2022
Intel’s 12th Gen Core desktop series codenamed Alder Lake K-series were officially released on October 27th, but the non-K parts became only available as early as January this year. On the other hand, Alder Lake mobile (P and H-series) did not debut till February which were then followed by HX desktop-class parts in May.
Intel recently announced its Innovation event on September 28, which is where Raptor Lake desktop CPUs will officially be unveiled. The availability of upcoming Raptor-Cove based CPUs is now expected around October this year, which may explain why Intel is not confirming Q3 or Q4 here specifically.

Recently, Intel plans for NUC 13 systems have been leaked, revealing that new NUC Extreme systems may already appear in Q4 this year. However, those are likely to feature desktop, not mobile, Raptor Lake CPUs. One usually expects next-gen mobile CPU series around CES expo in January, but the release schedule for mobile systems usually heavily depends on the availability of new GPU architecture. Intel is yet to confirm if Raptor Lake Mobile will be paired with GeForce RTX 30, RTX 40 or maybe Arc A-series GPUs. Meanwhile, AMD is preparing its Ryzen 7000 laptop series codenamed Dragon Range and Strix Point Zen4 APUs, those should be expected next year.

If Intel can stick to their release schedule then it is possible that both their 13th gen desktop and mobile CPUs will be available for the holiday shopping season.

Huh, I didn't notice but that's actually pretty odd. Intel always targeted its new mobile generation launch to coincide with the August back-to-school season. Guess everything at Intel is being delayed at the moment.
