"Intel's next-generation HEDT processor platform, based on the "Kaby Lake" micro-architecture, is the 7th generation Core i7 "Kaby Lake-X" family. The platform is based on the new LGA2066 CPU socket, and a new motherboard chipset, the Intel X299 Express."     LINK

This is a AMD fan trolling the internet again. Here are legit benchmarks showing how Ryzen 1800X overclocked fails to match a stock i7- 7700K: http://www.tomshardware.c...1700x-review,4987.html
Im certain a stock kaby lake- x can surpass a stock i7- 7700K. This thread is another example of how any garbage information can be considered news and the computer industry news rules are nothing more than a joke to b laughed at.

Very disappointed this article still exists in the computer industry news section when even the christian post warns readers at the end of their article to take this info with a grain of salt, and hardocp states it as a rumor in the title.

I afraid Intel will not be able to dominate with X299 except with more cores and double power consumption than AMD and high price. If Intel can't dominate with Skylake-E than we should immediately to invest in Ryzen because they will not able to change anything with Kaby Lake-E and in mean time we could use Ryzen 3-4 years before new socket.

Math is hard, hmm lets see 112w - 91w = 21w; 91w + 21w = double power consumption. Wow you were right! By the way it is skylake- x and kabylake- x.

What 112W... Maybe it's not double but it's close...
    1800X 90W vs i7-6800K 140W.... 50W more for 40% slower CPU and 2 core less.

Although the i7 -6800K overclocks better than the 1800X.

Yes and what you can do with that OC? To catch 1800X?
You can't come close even to 1700X.
OC have sense when you get more performance or after OC performance are same as more expensive model.
But now you can only overclock i7-6900K to work as 1800X or maybe i7-5960X.

For 1600/1700$ you can buy i7-6950X or you can buy R7 1800X, Crosshair 6 Hero, and GTX1080Ti.
Maybe even cooler for 1800X. Only if you buy 3 times cheaper model you will have satisfaction because your model beat record of most expensive Intel processor ever made, with more cores than any desktop CPU before in Cinebench R15.
That's much better than paying 3 times bigger price for similar performance.
    R7 1800X + ASUS Crosshair 6 Hero + GTX1080Ti vs i7-6950X.
    1200$ more...insane.

Why not compare it to an i7- 7700k? As a gamer there is no need for an 8core cpu unless u r going for 100+ fps at 1080p where there doesnt seem to be any GPU bottleneck. Even then you can turn on hyperthreading. But i game closer to 4K resolution which is bottlenecked by the GPU. Not to mention coffeelake will launch before the end of the year which will boost the performance to cost efficiency ratio. I figure the need for an 8 core cpu is about 3 yrs out for me, but i wont end up getting one for at least 5 years to let this price war pick up in heat and for better tech to arrive. Given a developer has an immediate need for an 8+core cpu, but money and power efficiency doesnt seem to be an issue for most developers getting that kind of hardware.

I would like more to see good 6 and 8 cores.
I will look 8 cores for my next upgrade.
AMD prepare some Naples faster than Intel Xeon, price will be cheaper and they promise more cores and better performance than Intel Xeon.
But everyone expect Vega first. When Vega show up I can upgrade my card to GTX1080Ti. Except if Vega really beat NVIDIA in price and performance.
Some things happen in past and now people who can't afford mistake need to wait to see both option before upgrade.
AMD need to be at least 20% stronger and same price, than I could think about him. Or same performance 150-200$ cheaper.
Same performance and 100$ cheaper I go on NVIDIA because I used on GeForce, but AMD had some surprise with R9-290X, now with Ryzen and no one give us warranty that they will not launch 30% better card for similar price and more video memory and HBM.
People expected similar performance as i7-6700K he beat i7-6900K. Vega is completely new architecture and we know nothing.

After AMD launched Ryzen I was really happy because I paid my CPU 280 euro and use 2 years.
Investing full price in Broadwell-EX I would feel very angry, because that was moment all of know that will happen.
But no one expect so much difference. People expect maybe in worse case to AMD beat i7-6800K for few percent with 8 cores because more cores.
No one expect to beat most premium Intel core per core, watt per watt, price to price. Completely, and not even that, they beat record of Intel with 10 cores and almost 2000 euro worth in Europe. 2 0 0 0  E U R O. small Yamaha Scooter or used few years old Crosser 125cc.

Some sources say on the Gamescom in August 2017.

I really don't think about getting Kabylake X. 4 cores was pretty amazing for a long time, but Skylake X looks much more interesting with 6 and more cores.

Sadly these benchmarks aren't really legit either. Ashes of the singularity for example just received it's first optimization for AMD RYZEN processors. AMD chipsets just received their first memory optimizations for the BIOs. In addition to that it is well know that games are optimized for Intel processors giving Intel processors a rather unfair advantage until such time as gaming developers can optimize games for both INTEL and AMD platforms, especially at 1080p.

at this point, I don't care what AMD has to offer.  X299 Man!!!  I LOVE Intel:  I love how they make their stuff so expensive and totally outta-reach for me! just like Nvidia cards.
