Just updating that the x99 Chipset driver is up to version: 10.1.17479.8054  BCavs link still takes you directly to it.  I highly suggest updating to the latest chipset driver.

I download Chipset driver you meantion somewhere in March, but I didn't want to install nothing after Intel Meltdown Patch just in case if they change something to slow down PC.
I have previous version installed, 10.1.2.86 WHQL.

No, no, I just bury the hatchet with Microsoft and fix everything with Win 10 v1803.
I don't touch nothing else before new OS build, than I could try maybe that driver.
They not change system on better, probably is some preparation for Meltdown-Spectre patches.
They not think about platform launched before 6 months, not about X99.

I know it's not about Spectre-Meltdown, but I say that new drivers maybe have some changes made as part of huge series of fixes for Spectre and Meltdown and because of that I don't install them or motherboard BIOS. They will not improve my performance for sure.

Chipset drivers is best installed on fresh installed OS system with cmd promt.
Because sometimes not update every section in device manager.
 
I have now installed 10.1.2.19 from 2015.
Last regular for X99,  ASUS, MSI, GIGABYTE have 10.1.2.19 on their site, ASRock some other, EVGA some newer 10.1.2.85.

Do you know what I mean, Chipset Driver need to be visible and same in every section under System Devices, except few maybe.
And under Universal Serial Bus Controllers 3 section....
 
That's second reason why I never install new Chipset Driver over previous. 
Several times I tried that and Installation finish but all sections under System Devices stay on previous driver.

No new Chipset Driver file from Intel but.
I updated more than half of the items in Device Manger, takes a while to do this a you will have a few restarts mostly PCI updates.
Some updates that did required a restart also gave way for other updates so RESTART of told to after you click that Close Button.

Hi mate, hope you don't mind me asking but do you have a reference for the latest USB drivers for the X99 board. I am having all sorts of problems using a soundblaster G6 when changing sound modes. Had this before , but sorted it by grabbing a different USB drivers to the one supplied. Buggered if I can remember which it was
Also what items did you update and where did you find the updates, if I may ask ?

I just went into Device Manager and updated all the USB Drivers that is listed then you will see or may see and unknown device right click on it and update the driver it will version as shown below.

 For Windows 7 this was the last Intel Driver This is a new version release: 5.0.4.43v2.

The info is posted in this Thread, Recertified all packages – added Windows 10 RS5 certification or 1809
I install this Chipset Driver Package on all my Windows 7 and 10 Computers to include Server 2007 R2, 2012 R2, and 2016.
What is in Bold Before is why I recommend install the Chipset Drivers, but it is your choice to install them or not.

Awesome, I installed the latest driver.
 
However I run from Powershell
.\SetupChipset.exe -overall
 
I've been using 10.1.2.85 for a while now.
 
After install in device manager it shows as:
Date: 7/8/1968
Version 10.1.3.1
 
As I was also confused about the version number as someone else mentioned.
