The EVGA drivers download page offers Intel Network Driver v22.6 for updating the EVGA X299 Dark. Intel's similar page offers version 23.5, which is five versions and seventeen months newer.
I downloaded Intel's version 22.6 of the drivers and compared them to the EVGA download. The contents of both downloads is identical when compared with the WinDIFF file and directory comparison tool. I conclude that EVGA did not modify, enhance or otherwise customize the version 22.6 drivers from Intel.
My question is, can I use the newer version 23.5 drivers from Intel. Version 22.6 was released on 8/22/2017, Since then, Intel has released versions 22.7.1, 22.9, 22.10, 23.4, 23.5. Is there a reason why EVGA is not offering the newer drivers, or is the EVGA driver download page out of date?
Lou
P.S. All of the other drivers for the EVGA X299 Dark appear to be the latest versions, as I found nothing newer on any of the supplier web sites:
