So instant rebates are the EVGA way to avoid step up being too good if I understand correctly. If the store price has a $30 instant rebate that creates price parity with other stores offering the same card then step up essentially costs an extra $30, correct?

I have a card that isn’t yet registered and is going to be a retailer return so I can only look at the list and make the assumption that it would be store price ignoring this “rebate”.  No way to see actual pricing since I'd rather not register something that will otherwise be a return.

That is correct. We do not take instant into account.

If you paid 299.99 with a 20 dollar mail in rebate/instant rebate it would be 279.99 for the value of the card.

    Hi brentsg,

To clarify a little further, the Step Up Program is a promotion, and per the terms and condition, cannot be combined with other promotions or coupons, including instant rebates.

Stepping up may not always be a good value for everyone, but for many people it's a great option. In a situation where you could end up "stuck" with a card that doesn't meet your needs, it could be far better than selling your card for a loss to someone else and buying what you really wanted.

A little twist on this.. what happens with Associates code discounts on step-ups?  Are these also forfeit?

I simply returned my card to the retailer (and purchased a card from another manufacturer due to availability) rather than use the program but I'd like to have a little more knowledge for next time.

The associate code would also be a discount like a instant rebate and wouldn’t be factored in. You really would only get what you paid out of pocket.

Use an Associates Code & SAVE 5% - 10% on your purchase. Just click on the associates banner to save, or enter the associates code at checkout on your next purchase. If you choose to use my code I want to personally say "Thank You" for using it.

Big question. I have a 2060 xc ultra and I was looking into a step up to the super, not sure yet if I want to. Anyway the big problem I am having is I am unsure what will happen for the price since my invoice is gonna say $0 due to me getting a replacement for a defective one from Amazon. I think I payed $379.99 or $399.99 for the original. Is there a way to correct the invoice or no? Or a better question is whether I can confirm the pricing?

Your best bet is to talk with customer support directly, but I would think your original invoice would be the one you upload, not the replacement card invoice.

The problem is that invoice is the specific date that matches my current one. I just thought that the information is supposed to match.

maybe - Ask Amazon CS to show the Original Credit / Return applied to the New Replacement - to establish purchase price ?
