Hi Just installed a 2080TI XC Hybrid kit for my 2080ti Black. Graphics card works fine, however when running games noticing a significant drop in FPS (almost half.) Verified this in 3d mark with stock cooler on Timespy score were around high 13000 now dropped to 6500. using windows 10 latest build, i9-9900K Any advice please?

Put the stock cooler back on.

First question... did you confirm that the XC hybrid kit was designed to work with your 'Black' edition? If not, you may be missing certain cooling components required for your card. I don't know the compatibility between an XC card and a 'Black' card, so I'm genuinely curious. Secondly, what are your new GPU temps? My guess is the pump might not be seated correctly and your GPU temps are much higher than they were with the air cooler, causing the card to throttle, drop your core clocks and decrease performance. Coincidentally, I installed the EVGA hybrid kit on my 2080 ti FTW3 Ultra this afternoon and my temps dropped by about 10C under load. I'm now getting higher stable overclocks, higher benchmarks and higher in-game FPS. All because my GPU core and memory temps are lower.

Spoke to support and they agree it might be an installation issue and have asked me to re-seat the pump as it might possibly be a thermal compound issue not covering the entire area . I did confirm that the kit is compatible with the black edition as it is listed on the product page. I am going to re-apply over weekend and will let you know, thanks all for your advice.

What are your Temps ?
With a GPU you Must have enough TIM to cover the entire Chip Tighten the fasteners while keeping the assembly flat Make sure the assembly does not "hang" on a wire or out of position thermal pad Is the pump working ?
Of the two hoses one should be much warmer (liquid coming from the GPU) the cooler one is coming from the radiator Confirm your Settings on your PC: Nvidia Control Panel & Windows = set to Performance Mode

Make sure you have some extra thermal paste on hand. You'll probably be fine just loosening the pump and reseating without new paste, especially if the paste on the pump isn't even making contact with the GPU core. But I generally refrain from re-using thermal paste, myself.

Agreed, I was going to a full re-apply, cleaning the existing TIM off the chip and pump and apply some Grizzly Kryonaut that I bought (just in case)

In this particular case, if you do find that the thermal compound in the center of the pump didn't even get used, leave it. I've read that it's actually quite good and covers the GPU core very nicely. So don't mess with that if you don't have to. For instance, I've seen one report of someone replacing the stock applied paste with Kryonaut and hit temperatures actually went up. Could be user error but just something to keep in mind.

Thanks all for the help, will let you know how it goes. For reference at idle temps are around 33c then while playing temps are 55c but the fans are at full power which leads me to believe the sensors are reporting too hot hence why it is going to the maximum.

So remounted and working great so far, temps and fan speed are low and results are much akin to what it was before, now playing around with overclocks :) Thanks you awesome people!

Out of curiosity, did you re-apply new thermal paste or just re-use what was pre-applied?

I just re-used what was there, half of it was not applied, hence the issue, looks like one of the mylar washers was causing the spring screw to not apply enough force on the bracket hence when I opened it up half of the chip was still clean, that kinda then confirmed the issue :) Spent a good hour re-working the mylar washer to ensure that when screwed down the paste applied across all of the chip.
