Guys! Anyone from Canada ordered 3080/3090 or equivalent $ for other GPU(s) directly from EVGA. I’m waiting for 3090FTW and I'm wondering what to expect in import/duties fees. After US to CA exchange it comes to $23xx. but I'm not sure what else I'm looking at. Normally I get them from either Canada Computers or NewEgg, but I'm wondering If I will see difference in $
Thanks

On a XC3 Ultra 3080 I had to pay the normal 13% tax + UPS charged 11 dollars for brokerage fees. No other fees.  Shipping was 30 USD so overall the exchange rate (used paypal) made things a bit more expensive than just buying one in Canada.  I'm not sure I would care about a few dollars if I was spending 2000+ on a purchase.

Ooo that's not much of a difference at al, I don't mind paying a bit extra. I have never ordered directly from EVGA so I had no clue what to expect and from some people complaining about import fees made me wonder.
Thanks for your input I appreciate that very much

Make sure that you pay for the expedited shipping, then your overall cost will be less.  If you pay for the cheapest shipping, you will be sorry, because then UPS will hit with fee after fee after fee which add up to at least $50 in this instance; way more than what the expedited shipping choice cost you.

Thank you very much for this valuable tip I wouldn't know that. So once I get the email from EVGA that card is ready, they have that option of shipment?

I just look at their shipping and here are 2 options, these are just examples

    UPS Worldwide Expedited ($36.26)

    UPS Worldwide Saver ($37.14)

This was just a pretend shopping with card of similar value, unless there are other methods  once I'm ready with the actual 3090

Choose the most expensive shipping option and you should only be charged a very small brokerage fee of ~$10 in addition to the normal provincial sales tax. You'll also probably be dinged a little on the credit card exchange rate and exchange fee. In the end all said and done it's probably around $100-$150 more than buying locally. I have not used Visa Debit with EVGA yet, nor do I know if it's possible, but that might be a way to dodge the CC exchange fee which is usually around 2%.

*Edit - I forgot, you can also use an associates code for another 5% discount which helps further shrink the price delta versus buying locally.

You only have to pay GST/PST (or HST) and a $10 importing fee to UPS. I actually saved $50 on my 3080 FTW3 vs buying locally from Memory Express ... just make sure you use an Associates code, and if you have time, get a credit card that has no currency exchange fees.

Only “standard” UPS has the ridiculous importing fees by the way. Expedited and Saver do not have the excess fees and they are the only options when you buy 3080 or 3090. Looks like standard is only available when you get free shipping. Fine for US customers, not so much for Canadians.

If you look at some people's responses such as mine you will see certain members are associate members. In the bottom of my response you will see click here to use my associates code for your discount and it will automatically add the code during checkout. You don't have to wait for your purchase either, like if you click the associate code link now it will store the code cookies on your computer so you don't have to worry about it later.

The only two options I've ever seen for shipping to my address in Canada are UPS Worldwide Expedited and UPS Worldwide Saver, with Expedited being free and Saver costing $30 USD. From my understanding, both Expedited and Saver incur the same fees for importing, so why wouldn't I go with the free option?

I fully expect to pay taxes at the border, but between Expedited (free) and Saver ($30 USD), there should be zero difference when it comes to additional fees. Or am I missing something here?

I've only ever used Worldwide Saver, the more expensive option. Can't confirm anything else personally.

I had only 2 options as I have sowed above in example and when time comes I will use the more expensive shipping. Although I don't know how that will reflect the final total and like degenerate said, you can't really avoid paying taxes, so I'm hoping that more expensive shipping method will keep other charges to minimum, whatever that means

is it worth it to apply for STEP UP if 3080 TI comes out within 90 days? Or not worth it cause of taxes and fees?

this might be a dumb question, how do you pay taxes and duties for UPS Canada? I always heard they take check only. I don't have any checks, nor do i know how to fill out out, I'm on the waiting list for a 3080.

If you dont pay online the driver sometimes wont deliver. Just a fyi. They can delay your delivery. Drivers want to see confirmation of payment ahead of time is what mine told me.

Drivers look for excuses to put you on low priority and not deliver. One one order from EVGA they faked coming to the door and said they attempted delivery. Called UPS and they told me the driver didn't have confirmation I paid. I said I paid online. He came the next day and he told me he didn't know I paid. These guys will do and say whatever suits them. Now I call after I pay and tell them to message the driver customs fees were paid and make sure its delivered.

Does any one know how the Increase of Tarrifs/Price will effect orders to Canada from EVGA?  Will Canadians pay the full US price due to the tarrif when we order from across the border?

I forgot which option i selected but for me it was :
    Government charges: 125.24$
    UPS Customs Brokerage Charges: 105.60$
UPS are a bunch of crooks, something needs to be done to avoid paying 105$ ontop of the 35$ish for delivery.

If you don't want to pay the brokerage fees, you could always go to the customs office at the port of entry and handle all of the paperwork, filing fees, and other minutiae involved yourself.

Depends on whether it's worth it to you to pay someone else to do it (who knows what they're doing) or handle it yourself and deal with any screwups and delays on your own.

I am actually trying my best to get the documents from UPS to self clear my brokerage claim... But its impossible with them... Ive been calling them almost everyday for a week now and always get the same response: "an email with the documents attached will be sent within 24 hours"... Everytime i wait a day only to receive nothing and call them again and again and again... I even decided to go to their customer center and they told me i have to wait for an email... Completely rediculous how UPS handles customer service.

The only reasonable solution is to stop offering UPS for international shipping... Their fees and customer service are outrageous... Save us the headaches EVGA!
