only diet that seems to be working for me is simple good old calorie counting, while cutting out any extra sugars etc so no chocolate and only sugar free drinks etc.

Calorie counting was such a pain in the ass, but it worked really well.  I would weight all of my ingredients going into a recipe, then weight the final food to figure out how many calories there were per gram, then weigh out my portions.  It was almost like a game to get under the calorie limit and still eat good food, but it made cooking take forever.  My current girlfriend would die from starvation waiting for me to cook dinner, so now I just kinda guess.

Your diet sounds very similar to what I'm eating.  Cutting out the bread, dairy, pastas - foods with extra added sugar (with exercise) will greatly help you.

I'm pulling for you.  You can Do it!!

Good job everyone...keep up the great work. I lost about 65-70lbs 7 years ago getting down to 170 doing pretty much the same thing. And have kept it off ever since.

Most people are addicted to food. I've eaten basically meat and vegetables for the last 7 years and went from 320lb->175lb and now I'm really focusing on lean protein and building muscle.

Awesome results man. Congratulations on your achievement. It does take a certain level of dedication. It is totally a good idea to decarb once in a while. But not all carbs are bad. The problem with most of the food in this country ( even in organic one) is too much added sugar. Its freaking everywhere. You know salad has carbs too so is fruit but they are also loaded with fiber and other good stuff which slows down the absorption of the sugar. Throw in a little exercises and you should get in a grear shape as you proved so nicely. Good job dude stay that way. It suits you 👍

WOW!!! You look great brother! I am proud of you. Just keep going dude and don't stop.  Hopefully you made some permanent lifestyle changes so all of those pounds that you worked your ass off to lose not creep back up and allow all that effort go to waste. By the way what do you weigh in now and what is your end goal for your weight? Have you taken any in depth measurements lately? I am sure by now you know numbers don't mean everything. You can just tell by some ones appearance they have changed. I can see your face, neck, stomach and obliques have gotten tighter. Your overall appearance looks younger and happier.

Anyways hopefully your amazing progress helps encourage other forum members to really want to better their health. Any little bit of your overall improvement towards your health can make a big difference from preventing/fighting off diseases and adding years to one's life.  You certainly have achieved what others have been trying to do with their summer cutting/toning phase for this summer. Again great job.

1 pound from my goal weight of 205

Also I want to add that my blood pressure was 158/100 when I started, now it's 112/72

Besides my broken knee and torn meniscus I feel great! My knee is starting to get better though. I had to lay off the running and insanity. Now I lift like crazy, do pull-ups, swim and mountain bike
