This is the locked thread and I'm sure this one will be locked. If EGVA will not sell Nvidia cards then why am I here. https://forums.evga.com/EVGA-will-no-longer-be-in-business-with-Nvidia-m3574884.aspx I support EVGA with my hard earned dollars folding for a company that does not give back at all to the folders. Now they stop producing Nvidia cards??????? By Monday I will be folding on a different team. This is one of the best teams I have folded on because of the team work and a manufacture that was worth buying from. Not now. Once my cards are out of warranty and fail. I will buy else where. Prob buy elsewhere before that. That 3 maybe 4 3080 folding rig will bring another team up. As much As I use to love EVGA. (edit by Moderator - per Forum Terms Deleted foul language)

I have to agree I’m on the fence for the SETI team, and honestly, I think I’m the only one who has completed any algorithms for a long time at least.

Folding is a philanthropic effort for the advancement of humanity, so I guess it really doesn't matter who you fold for. But it's always nice to have friends with the same interests to converse with.

I still have friends I have folded with starting when I started folding. So no it's not about the team ( def if the company you fold for don't care) but the people you have made friends with. So it's about moving on.

I started folding for team Abit. They went out of the hardware business and then I cam here. As long as EVGA is in business and has this website for folders and the BOINC team I will be here. Even if I have to use an Asus GPU to do it. Heck I use Asus, EVGA, Gigabyte, AsRock, MBs to crunch on And use EVGA and Radeon GPUs to fold and crunch on. Good luck OP where ever you end up, but I do hope you take some time and reconsider before you go. A team is about the people and not the hardware, ( There are all kinds of teams schools, countries...) Can't find a better bunch of people than what we have here.

It’s a big change but looking at the information it’s right. The Founders Edition put out by NVIDIA has been a slap in the face to board partners for a long time.

Deleted foul language. I don’t rightly care about your opinion, but don’t drop f bombs in the forum. Have fun folding for another team, and don’t forget, the evga folding team was created by users and evga gave back to the team for many years. Take the vulgar language with you on the way out of the door.
This thread is more about FOLDING ...I can keep it from being locked there are too many repeat threads about the same Sad news about EVGA & GPUs (locking duplicate threads is Not a new thing - even when posted in a different sub-forum)
For your other points of discussion: First - Thank you for your contribution to Team EVGA Folding Second - That you continue to contribute to Fold is the most important point. Yes, there are other things like Crunching - I'm just not well versed in them Yes the news is shocking "No new GPU from EVGA " I found out about this News, the same way as everyone else - once EVGA Jacob posted & then watched those 2 Videos After watching those videos, the Divorcy between EVGA & Nvidia was apparently a long time coming ... one sided relationships seldom end well Sure, the EVGA Bucks program will be missed - but that is not why I Fold in the first place You can spend as much time on the EVGA Forums as fits in your schedule - we welcome your contribution So, Be Good, Do Right & Have Fun!

With the team and history we've got here Folding and on the Crunching side, I will be around as long as this website is still up. Regardless of what comes next, EVGA has been a huge supporter of the FAH community. Best of luck if you are changing teams or if you want to stay...we are volunteers after all and it's ultimately about having fun! You should do what works for you, as long as it includes folding those WU's one way or another.

Looks like OP went over to [H]. Good team with good helpful members. They been more into the BOINC side of things the last few years but there are some who still fold. I miss some of the old timers from there. Miss the old rivalry with them going back and forth for first place. I will still fold and crunch on. But I guess I will buy Asus cards here on out. The last card I bought was a HP branded Tesla and EVGA didn't make them anyway. 7k card for 300$ used. If I go AMD Sapphire or XFX makes good cards. Good luck Ducrider

I’ve seen Ducrider’s posts over at [H] and frankly they’re as good a team as any to fold for.. (except 1). Bunch of helpful knowledgeable folks there. Good luck moving forward.

This event seems a weird reason to leave folding. I would have thought the dropping of EVGA bucks would have done it for most.

The EVGA folding team was set up by folders, not EVGA, and EVGA just gave an incentive for folding as part of the team that was established by folders. I would have thought the extreme electric bill would have been why people would leave folding. As it hit $400 a month in electricity, I couldn’t continue. I don’t understand the entire first post in this thread, but maybe it wasn’t meant to be understood. If someone needs to scream bloody murder on the way out, because they don’t get their way… well bye then, it was nice when some sanity remained.

It is called passion Scott. He loved EVGA and now that they no longer make gpu's, especially in partnership with Nvidia, he is hurt. He complemented all of us including EVGA. He is still folding, big time last I looked. He needed some form of closure. At times, I question what I am doing... but I am still here....trying to make a difference He couldn't justify staying...(It probably hurt too much!)

I think I found some as well... he mentioned he would buy from EVGA again. even though it was the most RMA'd company he had experience with. He definitely wasn't bad mouthing them. (EVGA) Since he has a history with a number of companies, from what I could gather, he was sharing his experiences. AND...He is leading their Team's folding production BIGTIME! He will probably stop bye from time to time. Looks like he is doin good!
