If your RTX 3080 or 3090 card died, was it from Taiwan or China?

3090 FTW Hybrid. Made in Taiwan with a 2014 serial. 1200 EVGA Platinum PSU. Updated firmware, latest nvidia drivers, running PrecisionX. Died within 4 days of receiving it.

Middle of CP2077 and everything went black.  Has a single red light on the card, not recognized by windows/doesn't ever turn the monitor on.  Able to RDP in from the network and see that the computer is working fine otherwise.

Having a card die within 4 days (and seeing how many other people are having a similar issue. I'm returning the card full stop. Not going to bother RMA'ing a card that clearly has manufacturing or design defects, who knows how long the next one will last. Disappointing EVGA has not made any statement about what is clearly a widespread problem.

Same situation with mine. FTW3 ULTRA RTX 3090 with Hybrid kit installed, 2012, made in China. Going to RMA it...but I'll have to wait until Monday or Tuesday to get a response.

3080 FTW3 Ultra
First Card that had the black screen and 100% fans was a 2014 had to RMA.
Second Card is 2012 been running it stock for 3 weeks now, feels like a ticking bomb. Have the Hybrid conversion boxed just wanting to test this card longer before converting it to Hybrid.

2012, purchased September 30th. Been running my card with no issues, heavy usage since. It must be a specific batch issue.

Just seek 2012 SN versions. They are the best.

Both the 3090 FTW3 Ultra cards I had to return for RMA were 2014 serial Taiwan cards.  My current card is a 2012 serial China card.

My first card was a red lipped 2014, lasted about a month then died while playing Division 2.

Received my RMA, another red lip 2014. The thing that bothers me about this one is that it literally looks like they pulled a card they had lying around and just put a new SN sticker on top of an older one. SN sticker wasn't placed perfectly on top so I see what appears to be another sticker below it. Came in generic EVGA box, no anti-static bag, no rubber covers for the SLI bridge or plastic port covers, no GPU support bracket and no manual like my first one did. Was pretty disappointed to see that.

Its still running which is good but a bit worried this one will crap out me too.

I have a 2012 taiwan. I've had it since 11th november, and still running fine. haven't had any problems with it, except for some **** drivers coming out from nvidia. But its running stock. and its a beast of a card.

Reading these forums makes people paranoid (including me) but thankfully we all got warranty incase smth happends.

Edit: Its been running several hours everyday since.

My RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra has a serial number starting with 20141. My gpu usage is low in every game, is the card the problem? Please tell me so.

No, you might have v-sync on?

I don't have vsync on and whatnot, I've tried every fix I could find but none worked, until I stumbled upon this post and think my GPU
might be faulty.

Resolution and cpu? You could be bottlenecked if a lower resolution.

2014 made in Taiwan. Purchased early December, Black screen, max fans and card lockup a number of times and last one was fatal. Motherboard will not boot with center power connector in graphics card so it is going to be RMA'ed. Had been running for about 10 days.
Tried two different power supplies etc. Motherboard etc runs fine with old 1080ti in it.

You seem to reply to every single post where someone has an issue with their 3090 with that exact copy and pasted response.  Its almost like you are a bot or you are trying to increase your post count with copy and pasted replies.

So why shouldn't I? Because I like to tell my card is working flawlessly? I am gonna a keep posting how well my card is working when ever I can. I hardly even posted anything in the first 10 years I was here since I got my Elite membership 11 years after I signed up.

It'd be good for those with failures to know whether they were running stock or OC/BIOS changes.

When I had a problem with my 3090 runnign the stock BIOS, the support person directed me to try one of the BIOS versions on the 3090 XOC BIOS thread.

How many of you are using daisy chain power cables?

None or nearly none.  That issue has been discussed in previous threads.  I'm on my 3rd card and never daisy chained power cables for the 3090s I've had.  Other people have said the same thing in other threads about this topic.  Daisy chaining the power cables isn't the issue.

Do you guys know what FTW stands for? Not "For The Win" it stands for "For The Warranty" so you bought a EVGA FTW card? 😂

Not sure how to tell where mine is from, but mine is a 2014 serial that says "packaged in the U.S.A". I checked both the card serial and the box. Fortunately, it is still running since Oct. 7th.  Had some issues initially, but turns out it was the PSU not the card that was an issue.

I saw this thread kind of went outside the scope of the actual poll / database attempt.  I started an actual poll so if you had a card fail go make the selections that apply. This may accomplish nothing. It may show a trend. It may also show that there are not as many failures as we think since threads with failures get spread out, multiple people respond to different threads.

It's almost certainly not EVGA's fault. It's Nvidia's.

Nvidia should have long ago built manufacturing plants here in America. Now we are being price gouged by tariffs, and the worlds leading process manufacturers are in Taiwan, and China. China thinks it owns Taiwan, and we could be at war over it- we are already in the midst of a trade war. What I don't get, is why are US companies selling GPU's on the global market without first satisfying domestic demand? Sort of seems as if they are less interested in acquiring US dollars than other currencies. Either way, AMD and Nvidia aren't being up front with us.

Well, just had an EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra die. Fans 100%, monitor turns off, PC does not recognize card plugged in. Serial number with 2014. Had the card installed for 3 months and been working fine. RMA process has been painless thus far.

Hello Guys, help me!
I have a RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra with serial number starting with 20141, it also performs poorly in war zone games from 100 to 120 fps, very sad, I don't know what to do, low GPU usage, I've tested them all the games I found ahead and the performance I am having is always inferior, sad that.
My CONFIGURATION:
Rysen 7 3800x
32 GB of corsair vegeance RAM
ssd nvme XPG 512
Water cooler rise mod rysemod
Motherboard: B450M-Steel Legends (BIOS updated), X.P.M memory enabled!
Corsair HX850i Platinum font
Monitor: AGON 32 inch 144 Hz
Defective video card: RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra.

My 3080 FTW3 that was giving BSODs a couple weeks ago and was clearly going to die (now on way back to EVGA) was s/n 2012, made in China.

My dead one was a 2014 from Taiwan with the black lips...

Waiting on the RMA replacement to see where the new one comes from, lol.

Serial number starts with 2114, though, according to the My EVGA product page.
