I know we have had this discussion before but,  If money were no object, what would your next PC rig setup be? I'm curious what parts and pieces you would choose.

What about the rest,  What would your whole system consist of? Motherboard, ram, power supply, case and so on. I still haven't put together my setup yet, but I will.

I will probably upgrade to the next Intel HEDT platform that comes out. I really want to move toward the SR3 dark or x299, but they have been around long enough that I don’t really want to move to them at this point. I am still sitting on my i7-6950x, and I think that processor gives me more issues than I want to admit.

I have already upgraded my RAM, SSD’s, M.2’s, and so forth, and do not like that x99 is not allowed to bifurcate PCI lanes.

    I HATE doing that...

Someone come do it for me.

I'd add watercooling to my RAM and Mobo, and have 3 separate pump loops:  1 for the CPU, 1 for the GPU, 1 for the RAM and Mobo.
I'd also try doing loops with either mostly fittings/metal, or strangely bent and helixing hardline...

I am reminded of someone on PC Part-Picker who spent $1200 on only fans...  That was a hell of a rig...  =D

Make a frosted hard tube build, and get a custom-designed case by Lamborghini (or some other outrageous brand) with a paint job from Brock Hofer.

I'd do a submerged, mineral oil build. Something ridiculous like a 3-way SLI 3090 build so I don't need to drain/dry it for a long time.

It would not be on a computer, it would be my own island in a none flood/catastrophic storm zone, island would have a farm with fields for me to tend, animals, tons of trees with fruit, car track, off road track, and some way to have high speed internet. Then it would have automated turrets rocking .50 cal rounds so if any pirates got any bright ideas RIP.

Found out today that silver has higher thermal conductivity than copper or gold.
I really like my current rig, but I wouldn't say no to some custom pure silver heatsinks and rads.

Easy, my dream system, I still want one, I still lust after it.

    AMD FX-60
    ASUS A8N32-SLI
    2GB OCZ GOLD DDR600
    7800GTX 512 SLI
    150GB WD RAPTOR X4 RAID 0+1
    Sound laster Audigy 2 ZS
    BFG Physix card
    bd-rw drive
    Hd-dvd drive
    Dell 30in 2560x1600
    Antec P160
    Dual 120mm noctua fans
    Blue cold cathodes

Whoa nice rig! You can totally play half life at full settings, even Crysis maybe! (sarcasm).

I totally forgot that PhysX Cards used to exist...

Given my current needs, I honestly don'y think there is a point in buying anything better than the rig I'm trying to buy this year:

Ryzen 5 5600x (good with low power consumption - why overkill it with a 5950x)
Dark Rock Pro 4 (similar performance to Noctua&don't trust liquid cooling, espec for long-term use)
Asus ROG strix b550-f gaming wifi (again, do I really need better?)
32gb 3200 corsair lpx (64 is an overkill, 3600 debatable)
Evga ftw3 rtx 3070/3080 (whichever comes first in queue)
Meshify 2 midi (black&solid side panel, think glass is a bad idea/not into rgb to stare at it)

So the only three things I'd actually get better are:

Corsair RMX850x 80gold - replace it with a higher quality one.
WD Blue SN550 2tb - swapped out for the best money can buy because reasons.
Monitor s2721dgf - I'd get instead separate 25'' and 27'' for different competitive gaming and then maybe something giant for work.

It's already my dream pc for the foreseeable future. Maybe I'm just too much of a realist ;)

I know we have had this discussion before but,  If money were no object, what would your next PC rig setup be? I'm curious what parts and pieces you would choose.

    Ryzen 9 5950x
At least 128Gb ram for Houdini workloads
A ton of SSD space for caching data used during work
Multiple quadro cards unless a 3090 will perform similarly and then just let it chug along. :)

I want performance for big cronch.
