If I RMA non-LHR 3080 will I get LHR replacement?

Hi,

I’m just wondering if I have to RMA a non-LHR 3080 will I get the LHR version if it has to be replaced? I hope this isn’t the case or I’d have to get another model like the 3090 where LHR models don’t exist. I don’t mine but I want the better resale value.

    When the industry fully changes to "proof of stake" instead of "proof of work" for crypto currencies like ethereum there will be no "better resale value" of non LHR cards. This change is already starting to happen and will escalate further next month. Also with Nvidia themselves mandating that all their current cards will be transitioned to LHR versions it will not be up to AiB partners like EVGA or ASUS as to what they get be it LHR or not. Maybe EVGA will have some non LHR versions when or if you need to RMA but no one will be able to say for sure. Again though, when the crypto industry fully transitions to "proof of stake" LHR not not won't matter.

    Last I heard, EVGA was going to try to replace -KR cards with -KR cards while they can, but that can not last forever as NVidia is making the LHR change.

    As far as getting a higher tier card, that won’t happen. They won’t replace a 3080/3080ti-KL with a 3090 for mining. The graphics card company is selling graphics cards for graphics, not for mining, so mining performance is not factored into replacement products.

    We can confirm that all RMA's requests with a KR part number will be replaced with another KR wile supplies last. Once stock and inventory is diminished or no longer available, KR products will be replaced with KL or LHR cards. This is completely determined on inventory available at the time of your RMA arrives for processing.

    No you will not be able to upgrade to a 3090 through a RMA 
    Best bet would be to sell the card on ebay or some other way and buy a 3090 or other KR card you want

    Unfortunately not as this would be considered a Step Up - if you are still within 90 days of your purchase on the original card you should be able to Step Up with the replacement however.

    Hola, tengo una RTX 3080 TI FTW3 ULTRA, y la uso para minar ETH pero solo va a 58mh/s, en la caja no indica que sea LHR, QUIERO SABER si ya todas viene asi o si hay forma de anular el LHR.

    That's completely incorrect information and you shouldn't tell people that. when Ethereum forks the mining equipment that's in the Ethereum pool is going to look for other coins to mine which just means there's going to be another coin for your machines to mine they're not going to be useless so quit telling people that please

    As far as I know, all 3080Ti's are LHR.

    As transdogmifier stated, all 3080Ti's are LHR. This also goes for 3060 and 3070Ti models, as well.
