Intel had my RMAed i9-12900k for 7 working days, after originally saying it would only take 5 days I emailed the following to Intel;
"All I expect from you INTEL, is to replace my defective Intel i9-12900k, with a new Intel i9-12900k. I am still waiting for you to replace/ship my replacement CPU. I thought you would be interested in how your Intel i9-12900k failed/became defective in the 1st place. And I am somewhat "surprised & disappointed" that you INTEL, do not seem to care. Let's be brutally honest here, there are only 2 options for how the CPU failed, the first option being the ASUS ROG Strix Z690-E Gaming motherboard/with severely defective BIOS that caused my CPU to become "defective" that was returned by me to Newegg 3 months ago, or the second option being you INTEL somehow made a bad batch of Intel i9-12900k CPUs. As far as ASUS is concerned, they could offer me a "free" $2,000.00 Motherboard and I would refuse to take it. I will never purchase another ASUS product ever again. In case you are interested, my expertise in computers started in 1998, I am also a "Journeyman in Electric Motor and Transformer Repair", with extensive hands-on experience repairing electronics, in my 24 years of computing I have never had a CPU fail." A few hours later.
"Intel's reply: Thanks for the information provided.
You will receive an email notification as soon as the CPU is shipped to you. Regarding the Asus issue, we understand that you had a bad experience with their system, we already took the feedback from our side and we are very thankful for that."
I got the sent by USP notification at 04:30 AM this morning, I had the New CPU at 12:00 Noon. Sent by air. I had my New Intel i9-12900k in 1 day! Different Batch Number.
I will add there was a lot of back and forth before I got a little tired of the "waiting"!! I will admit I am somewhat worried about putting the New i9-12900k in my Dark Kingpin, concerned it may have damaged my Motherboard. It was acting up when I took out the CPU. I will find out tomorrow, Friday by the afternoon.
