So I finally decided to upgrade my PC and got the I7 3770K which I know wasn't originally supported by this motherboard when released... however, I downloaded the BIOS Flash Update, utilized Rufus to create a bootable USB and I successfully flashed the BIOS with R25 (released in 2013)

So finally after updating the BIOS and all that, I got to work and replaced the CPU, RAM (to 16GB) a GTX 1060, 1 TB SSD, and a 850W EVGA PSU... go and start her up and nothing. just three beeps and that LED code of 55.  Grateful for any advice at this point honestly... Thank You!

    Hi!

From your motherboard manual https://www.evga.com/support/manuals/files/130-SB-E685.pdf page 29, code 55 means "no memory installed".

     From page 15:

So ensure you used the memory slots that are the closest to the CPU when installing your RAM.

If you still have problems, try using 1 memory stick in the DIMM1 slot only, then switch if needed.

    GL!

Code 55 could be caused by the heatsink being to tight on the cpu. Try loosening it up a bit.

I'm with Sajin on this one. Try loosening your cooler a quarter turn at a time and see if it comes back. Exerting too much pressure on the socket causes uneven contact. It's weird, but I have run into this issue in the past as well.

Failing that, put your old CPU back in and see if it will fire up with the new memory. If it does, your CPU might be to blame. Once you have figured that out, and if it works, put the 3770K back in and try it once more.

Check for any obvious signs of failure on the 3770K whilst you have it out of the system as well. Check for bent corners on the CPU PCB.
