Yes, yesterday was something strange. One SKU was @30 minutes and the other @20 and I believe it was only open for elite members, but I'm not sure on that. Just follow the forums and the EVGA site for information about when it will reopen. Yesterday was an anomaly. Just pure supposition on my part, but NVIDIA's NDA for this release may have been involved.

Pretty much useless to us long time Elite Members when we get "0" notification of an upcoming notification release, especially for a brand new sku......an email "heads-up" would have been a nice touch. Perhaps moving forward with future new SKU's Evga will do something like that.....

NVIDIA sets the release criteria in their NDAs for AIBs and no AIB will break the NDA. So NVIDIA says no notification, there will not be any unfortunately. Look what NVIDIA did with their NDA on this release to reviewers.

honestly paying $380 more for an extra 2 gigs that wont make any noticeable performance difference is just silly and a waste. there are tons of better options out there people we need to stop telling companies its ok to scalp people. im a big fan of evga and i loved my 2070 card but this 3080 12gig price is just stupid and unjustified. all nvidia is doing is making amd look better and better every day. i truly dont get how people are ok and so eager to just sign up for this crap so fast

Evidently the GPU core is upgrading with more cuss cores unlocked as well as the extra 2gb. It’s not just a ram upgrade. Basically it’s a slight slower 3080 Ti with the same ram.

The "noticeable difference" between a 3080Ti and a 3090 and in some cases a 3090 KP is also negligible....many will get the Cards n scalp there old cards or the new one on flea bag.

Do you have a cellphone or a smart watch connected to a cel phone?? If Yes, you don’t sit and wait for Jacob to post on Twitter, it automatically pushes you a notification to your phone or watch saying “hey EVGA tweeted: “and then it proceeds to show you the tweet. You aren’t actively refreshing a page hoping EVGA pops up and posts. This lunch was a little strange, and that seemed to be based on the NDA from NVidia.

YES. Imagine your girlfriend saying "you are my ELITE BOYFRIEND" but she says she will only let you sleep with her for 20 minutes... without being notified. You have to keep asking her "are you ready yet?". This is how ludicrous this situation is. Twitter? So, what is it, refresh the page every 20 minutes - or open a twitter JUST to be notified? (and you only get 20 minutes after notification) Do Elite Members get notified - or everyone? This is like that "Don't you guys have cell phones" Blizzard situation. I really don't understand it - aren't elite members in an e-mail list? Can't they just get a simple "Hey new GPU, link will be open only to Elite Members for 24 hours." ? Are we to refresh page, or look constantly at twitter? Please, a little better communication - we simply want to buy EVGA awesome products, that's why we are loyal, and here.

Not true, 3090 is 8k ready due to ram, 3080x are 4k. Besides, 3080 12gb is just gimmick to squeeze as much money from customers as possible. From now on you can forget about regular 3080@msrp.

Maybe more than a 3080ti FE, but not more than the brand partner MSRP, due to NVidia not needing to pay extra for all other components. They get to take more cut for themselves.

it's as close as you can get since there isn't a 3080Ti XC3 Ultra and isn't a 3080 12GB XC3 Gaming. *shrug* the price difference from gaming to ultra isnt that much usually. at best the 3080Ti XC3 Ultra might be the same 1249. but the fact remains that there exists a 3080Ti for as low as $1209 (was $1199 at launch, and I believe that was the XC3 Ultra model too, the lesser "gaming" model came later for a higher price), but the 3080 12GB doesnt exist at all less than $1249. is it even right if they were the same price? paying the same for a lesser card. the price separation on the FTW3 skus just shows how much EVGA marked them up for the 3080Ti lol.

It's completely irrelevant and one dumb example. There is such a wide range in AIB price this gen that there is already overlap. I got a reference 3070 Ti at launch for $599 that will run rings around a typical AIB $600 3060 Ti. FE 3080 12Gb is $799. AIB cards will be from $800 to $1500+. The FE 3080Ti is $1200 and the AIB cards are $1200 to $2000+.

honestly paying $380 more for an extra 2 gigs that wont make any noticeable performance difference is just silly and a waste. there are tons of better options out there people we need to stop telling companies its ok to scalp people. im a big fan of evga and i loved my 2070 card but this 3080 12gig price is just stupid and unjustified. all nvidia is doing is making amd look better and better every day. i truly dont get how people are ok and so eager to just sign up for this crap so fast
The "noticeable difference" between a 3080Ti and a 3090 and in some cases a 3090 KP is also negligible....many will get the Cards n scalp there old cards or the new one on flea bag.
Not true, 3090 is 8k ready due to ram, 3080x are 4k.
Besides, 3080 12gb is just gimmick to squeeze as much money from customers as possible. From now on you can forget about regular 3080@msrp.
And you game at 8K do you:) Doubt it very much and I doubt you will be gaming next year at 8K so "8K ready" is a moot point really.
Minecraft in 8K is off the chain. Seriously though, I've been messing with a 5600G APU that does about 1,600 in TS GPU, overclocked. It can run GTA5 in 1080P60 upscaled to 4K, with minimum settings. Still looks really good. Point being, nobody is going to be running 8K max settings until the end of the decade and maybe the displays will be common by then. For now it's not a selling point imho. I bet you can game 8K pretty decent with even a 2060 if you nail the settings.

FE 3080 12Gb is $799.
where? the 3080 12GB isn't even listed on nvidia's shop. and the only source for FE cards is best buy and they also don't list an FE model. I can't find any evidence that a 3080 12GB FE model exists.
