Just another card to continue Capitalizing on this situation , if we are were not in the perpetual demand cycle, no one in their right mind would even think about paying 100 per 1% performance boost, but here we are... so that 400$ more that you spent will get you 2fps in MSFS, that's the reality we are in .
The only reason for the NDA was to keep and suppress the Backlash of bad press for this behavior by NVidia

Pretty clear that the TPU info is just their guess. Not evidence at all. If an FE existed it would be on nvidia’s site and sold by Best Buy. 3080 12GB FE doesn’t exist.

The TPU value is nothing more than a place holder and should be taken with a truck load of salt. It’s not based on anything and that should be painfully obvious since there is no other evidence of any 3080 12GB FE card. TPU has a history of putting in placeholder pricing and specs info on rumored cards. Trying to use that to back your own argument is laughable.

Oh? How about the $2000 Asus Strix 3080 Ti? Most AIB 3080 Ti's are $1600-1700. Vs. 3090. Surprisingly most good AIB 3080's are still around $1100, which isn't that bad in the current market. You can get a 3080 FTW3 LHR on stock-x for $1300 or so. But yeah, a good 3070 Ti can be more than a basic 3080 and there is big performance gap.

$799 is a perfectly reasonable figure compared to the existing FE / Ref MSRP's. We will have to see how other AIB's price their cards. ASUS has their 3080's around $1100. They could price their 3080 12GB at $1200 or $1300. Or maybe Nvidia cranked up the price of the chip / memory kits and the AIB's are passing that cost along. EVGA obviously had a major jump in price.

Nvidia has the Asus and EVGA pricing for 3080 12GB posted on their site. EVGA is always the cheapest though still expensive in my GPU book.

That's the question I have. Is the queue open for EVERYBODY? if so it's obvious why it filled up so fast. If it were open JUST for elite members for 24 hours... story would be different. But EVGA has no incentive whatsoever to differentiate sales from scalpers or from loyal customers. The money from either smells the same to them. Right now this is all a marketing ploy that has evidently not been anything real since (1) there is no queuing first for elite members, (2) owners of series 3000 can still join (scalpers). Just spend a few hours creating a page that says the queue will be open 24 hours for elite members and that's it they've got us hooked on the emotion that we will buy 3000 series from EVGA so we don't look at other companies. Prove me wrong. I'm loyal customer since god knows when and I'm never notified about any launches, never have queue open just for us loyal members, not into any e-mail listing, and I wrote to EVGA recently and I was told that <<I should be checking the website every single day if I wanted to get into any queue, it's my fault for not paying attention close enough>>. Yes because having family who depends on you and taking care of them gives me all time in the world to check your EVGA site daily like I am some professional scalpers. Seriously.

EVGA has never sent emails notifying people ahead of time of queue openings. They send a newsletter after the launch.
If you want a video card in 2022 you should be checking every possible source, every day, multiple times a day. If you aren't willing to do that, or cannot do that, then maybe your best bet is to buy one from a reseller.
I just don't understand the "I shouldn't have to expend any effort" mentality, especially at this point.

I tried to sign up for the queue, just to see how fast I would theoretically get a card (which I would decline in all honesty), but the queue was so short that it was closed again before my first break at work. EVGA promised a 24-hour queue window where the size of the queue didn't matter, the time that the queue was entered didn't matter, and who received cards (in what order based on availability) was completely dependent on how the queue 3.0 ranked them. Hopefully EVGA will some day deliver on that promise. The mindset that a queue can be "too full" completely undermines the entire principles of queue 3.0 and greatly shifts supply toward people who are taking advantage of the system. You can point out faults in the queue 2.0 system, but at least with queue 2.0, once all the people at the beginning of the queue who were taking advantage of the system had their cards, there was at least room for a massive amount of deserving people further down in the list to still get their cards. With queue 3.0, they "fill the list" over a short period of time with many undeserving, the deserving never get the ability to sign up, they close the queue, the undeserving get their cards, the list is exhausted, and then the process repeats. I have JacobF’s Twitter notification set to notify me when he posts. Jacob posted and I was able to enter the queue for the 3080 12gb without issue, and then the queue was closed a little while later. I highly suggest following Jacob on Twitter for times like this when NVidia places an NDA on EVGA and EVGA can’t send you an email.

This is the problem. This millenial "leader" needs to get outside of his Twitter bubble and act like a real CEO and send out mass emails to registered EVGA customers.

I just don't understand the "I shouldn't have to expend any effort" mentality, especially at this point.
