I have researched all black screen issues and still can't find an answer to my problem

I am currently running a EVGA 2080 Super XC and experiencing an issue that I can recreate every time. Whenever I try to play a game after my screen has been turned off and woken back up a black screen will flicker. I hope I am explaining this well. So basically when my screen turns off after like 10 minutes of inactivity, I will move the mouse to wake it back up. Right after this if I try to play a game. The screen will turn black and then return to normal every few seconds or so.
 
Obviously I have set the screen to never turn off, but I would still like to find out the cause of this issue.
 
I've had the card replaced so, I am guessing there's a windows setting that I need to change.
 
Please help me out here guys :)

    Are you using a dp cable? If yes, is it vesa certified?
