Noticed when logging into the forums I had to check that box that said "I am not a robot". Never had to that here before.

It's a bit annoying, but I get it...

If it keeps out the bots,...... I'm cool with it.

But what if an account is a robot and still clicks it?

The recaptcha algorithm would pobably detect something suspicious in the robot's webpage interaction and cookie history and present the robot with the standby deep-learning picture challenge, which it would likely fail, instead of just giving the robot a check mark to continue. The check mark is only given when a human user is extremely certain.

EVGA, your new captcha is the spawn of SATAN.  It took me about 25 tries to get logged in for some reason, and I assure you *beep* i'm Human. I cancelled my Sony Vue subscription when they started requiring this exact same nonsense for every other login.

The spammer spammed the forums yesterday.

I don’t know when evga added the captcha feature. I don’t know when the pictures were added.

Ha! Yup, using a conventional browser, a conventional input method, and having a favorable user history, that would work just fine.

There's a google paper about the recaptcha system, if anyone is interested in reading about it. It's pretty easy to find. It's a pretty smart system and is usually really easy for humans to use without aggravation. Without any strange use history or erratic mouse movements, humans should usually get a check-mark first try without having to solve any image or audio tests.

That's really odd. I wonder what it is about your browser, internet connection, cookie history, internet use patterns, and mouse/touchpad/touchscreen that it doesn't like. Are you using a touchscreen? Touchscreens/phones tend to have more trouble satisfying recaptcha in a hurry since there is little input movement before the checkbox is selected.

Usually, the only time I really get challenged by recaptcha is when I am using my phone (no mouse movement to judge), and am starting a new browser session from a new VPN connection.

I have had issues with reCAPTCHA last year for months on Humble Bundle using MS Edge where I was in an endless loop of solving images puzzles but at the same time could login using Firefox with one or two tries.
