Before I add to cart.... are we sure the 3090's are not crashing like the 3080's? The pics of them show a 4x2 configuration. It's the base XC3 model.... no backplate.

That should be the last of your worries. I would be more worried about scams and warranty status.
If it isn't stable, you can RMA it. I don't think the SP-CAP thing is anything you should worry about. Some cards will be unstable or defective regardless of which capacitors they use.

He's local, so we are going to meet. Do the thing in cash, so I'm not really worried about a scam. More worried about the caps. It's new in box, so I will register it etc.

EVGA is great with warranties. If I register it, I am the owner. Kinda like having a family member who picked it up etc. Anyway, when I see it if it isn't sealed no deal. Well there was a small profit there, 200 bucks over MSRP. f5 tax. I'll let you guys know how it turns out. There are good people out there.... let's hope he is one.

Hmm didn't know about that warranty clause. I'd double-check with evga to see what info you need from the reseller as far as receipts to apply and make sure that reseller will give those to you.

Also, if the price is barely more than msrp+ebays 10% fee I'd be nervous that it's a scam. Ebay is great with refunds though if it is.. Just might not be worth the hassle.

Agreed. I always say to do this in a neutral public location like a Starbucks in broad daylight, have someone else you know nearby and if you have a carry permit.. have your gun on you. My best friend and her girlfriend had a gun pointed at them and they were robbed and almost assaulted when trying to buy an iPhone off of Craigslist.

That's insane and disappointing. Glad they were able to walk away but that's not always the case for some unfortunately. I refuse to do these in person sales. As much as I can't stand the fees from ebay, paypal, shipping, etc., it's well worth it from a safety standpoint. If you need to meet, I know my PD has two parking spots with signs for online sales, trading, etc. Many PDs have that out there and they recommend you go to them during these in person transactions.

It has a Newegg receipt. The plan is to meet and give him cash. So there is no actual eBay transaction, we just met there. Turns out we “knew” each other other from the OC forums.... for years actually. So the purchase was from Newegg and now I’m about to buy it. Interesting though. I’ll call EVGA see if I can get a human in the phone....

Thanks! I’m actually surprised eBay would be valid at all. However this transaction will be a cash payment for a card from Newegg. I found him on eBay.... then we agreed to meet. I’m sure it will be fine. I’ve been buying EVGA cards for 15 years and the two times I needed an RMA they were beyond awesome. Asus on the other hand... not so much.
