So I got in the queue for the Hydro Copper cards a bit late...

...but I figure since these cards have such a high barrier to entry (custom loop required), they will pop first for me before any of the other cards I signed up for several months ago (although the 3070s seem to be moving pretty steadily)

So, I'm planning to get a Corsair water cooling system, but my case (Fractal Design Define R5) is limiting me to a 240mm radiator.  (For those of you who check, I need the 5 1/4" bays for my UHD BD drive)  My processor is an AMD 5800X.  Do you think a single 240mm radiator (the 54mm one) would be enough for a 3080 and 5800?  FWIW, I also plan to get the XD5 pump.  I don't plan to overclock aggressively... any overclock I do will be conservative.  I can also fit a 2nd radiator if necessary.

This will be a Home Theater Gaming PC so quiet operation is paramount.

I'd like to keep costs low as possible without getting garbage components.  I plan to do soft tubing since I won't have a side panel window (again home theater gaming PC... flashing colored lights are bad).  Any recommendations on other brands that make decent stuff at a reasonable price that won't leak all over the inside of my PC?  I've checked out ThermalTake but they seem a bit pricy.

Thanks!

I'm gonna be honest with you. With the times you posted, you'll never get an email to purchase either card.

It took 3 months for the 3080FTW3 Ultra to move one day, and I figure less people probably singed up for a custom loop card.  You think they're only going to make one batch of these and never sell them again?

Good luck on getting one of the HC cards! I have a 980ti HC, and a 1080ti HC, and hopefully a 3090 Kingpin HC, SOON™!

The pump you want is fine. I would consider an external Blueray drive, so you have that space for a 360 RAD. If it fits, go for a thick RAD. The only noise you should hear are the fans, and if you use a controller, you can put them at the speed you want and make them very quiet. If you only have one fan for each 120 space on your RADS, put them in push, not pull. (There isn't a need for both push and pull, but if you REALLY want to, go for it.

There are Many water-cooling solutions. Off the top of my head you will need a pump, tubing, fittings, CPU waterblock, and I highly recommend a drain-port.

Not sure about posting links to other vendors here, but if interested PM me and I'll give you a link to a great discord where there are tons of knowledgeable people that can help you further on the water-cooling stuff.

You have 4 things working against you. 1) 3080 cards are hardly produced anymore 2) XC3 cards are on EVGA's back burner 3) Hydro Copper cards are the least produced card EVGA makes. 4) All the people in front of you.

I've been in queue for a RTX 3080 XC3 card since October 2020, others ahead of me from September 2020. I do not expect to ever receive an email to purchase that card.

Just throwing this out there for you, I queued for a 3080ti ftw3 HC on 6/3/21 @07:28:23. It hasn't moved since launch. I've been seeing the ftw3 air variant keep falling in price (scalpers but its fun to watch). Im gonna give it another month, if not ill go another route and just put the block on myself. Anyway, good luck. Also, 240 would be the minimum I'd go...preferably a 360 thick rad or more if your case allows.
