I've installed the kit to my card, just wondering what the 4 and 3 pin male leads coming from the card, do I just connect them to the radiator fans? Also 2 nuts fell out of my card near the io shield area after taking the back plate off. The kit never mentions them or if I need them again

I am considering buying the 400-HY-1988-B1 cooler for my 10-P5-3897-KR.
I am not feeling real comfortable with the installation, but willing to give it a go.
There are a few questions I have though:
    1) How many degrees cooler approx. will I gain during gaming?
    2) I am preparing by reading the EVGA installation manual and see thermal paste item 12 is included, but I am not seeing which step or how to re-apply.

Intel i9-9900k@3.6GHz, GIGABYTE Z390 AORUS ULTRA, RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra, 32GB DDR4-3200 Memory Module - GSKILL Ripjaws V, Thermaltake Toughpower Grand RGB 850W 80 PLUS Gold, Win10, Acer X34P Ultrawide

I gained at least 15-20 degrees cooler and at a quieter level. It includes thermal past I guess in case you fail at the first attempt or if you want to reapply the original cooler (assuming you can preserve the original thermal putty which is near impossible), but it comes with thermal paste applied already.

Thank you for the answers. I am apprehensive, but the reward sounds like it would be worth it.

I was afraid too, just like you, but it was easy. Just make sure to remove the covered screw before trying to remove the backplate/cooler (it's under an anti tampering stamp). And just go slowly removing the cooler. Other than that it's a pain to remove the thermal putty. I couldn't fully remove it all but did it as best as I could and temps seem to be fine. After that it's easy peasy.

Thanks for the reply and advice.
I have received the kit, but have not started yet.
    Wish me luck
I am confused though about the GPU bios.
There are no instructions regarding updating the bios in the kit instructions, but I am reading a lot about updating the bios after installing the hybrid kit.
After realizing that Precision currently shows me 3 fans and the Hybrid should only be 2?, I am seeing maybe this is a requirement.
Some posts indicate steps required and Jacob posted links for download files, but other posts state to use other bios files and not these.
I am not looking to do overclocking, but could someone clarify working bios update requirements after installing the hybrid kit?

Youre ok, you dont have to update your bios to install the Hybrid kit. Sometimes the pamphlets that come with a product will show a older model/similar model just for demonstration purposes, so dont take the pictures as gospel. You gotta use a little intuition and just plain common sense sometimes to mount things like this. It may pay to a have a buddy with a little more pc knowledge do it with you if you feel unsure, but you should be ok its not that tough to do. Just make sure when you mount the rad in the case that it stays higher than your gpu, so the air pocket settles high in the rad top, and you should be good.
