AIO coolers won't last forever, even EVGA's offerings.
I've owned 6 AIO coolers. 4 died after 2 years (they came with 2 year warranties) and the other two I purchased last year and come with 6 year warranties. The failed AIO coolers all died due to their pumps going out.

None of my coolers have died so far, with the oldest on it's 3rd year. I figure by the time it does die, it will be time for a new card anyways. Besides it's not that much to buy just the cooler.

Hybrid cooler no real competition except custom watercooling. Even for Founders Edition best way is as soon as possible upgrade to Hybrid.

The Hybrid coolers are excellent in my honest opinion. Temperatures play a major role in many of the common issues GPU's face. I can say that Hybrid cards face a minimal number of these issues. Coolant leaks are extremely rare to the point that they are almost non existent (although it can happen). I will always go Hybrid when it is available.

I have 980ti hybrids in sli - both run 1525+ all day long with no voltage added and stock bios. They sit around 45-50 degrees when gaming. I do have a dedicated fan controller just for the cards. I run the pump, aio fan, push pull fan on both cards from the fan controller. I run the pump at 80%, the four radiator fans at 50% and I have a custom fan curve for the on card blower fan. Stays nice and quiet and cool at the same time. Not as good as dedicated water but I am not going full water. I want plug and play. I have to decide whether to keep mine or go to a single 1080ti.

was some used on e-bay but seem there all gone as well - I guess your stuck with the corsair solation like the h55 that's used on the MSI seahawk cards . I gues any long term support from evga on that is folly , and you left holding the bag ? hope the 10 series guys look at this as well on what they could be facing shortly [no replacement part ] too bad so sad, thanks for buying evga i'll even bet now if you had a 980ti hybrid still in warrantee and sent it in they would not be able to replace your card and send you the ''next best thing '' / 1060 air cooled , lol........ great card the hybrid but poor support on a specially item as this I had emailed there support on if the pump for the 10 series would work and was told you do that at your own risk and they only back up what it is listed as compatible for as in 10 series only like me I would not care about the shroud part but seems the pump and radiator should be available long term if your were to fail to just replace [opinion] in the end its just easier for you to just go buy a brand new card all over again , right ?

Kraken G10 bracket w/fan and a compatible AIO cooler - the H55 is adequate to keep a 980 Ti below 60C (~55Caverage when heavily OCed), but I changed to a Kraken X41 (new model is X42) which kept my 980 Ti below 45C (~42C average). The great thing about using the Kraken X10 bracket is that it worked on a 980 Ti Classified, a 980 Ti Gaming G1, and a 1080 ACC 3.0. When I get the iCX upgrade and then step up to the 1080 Ti it will fit that as well. *it might take removing the mid and or back plates to have enough room for the clamping bracket and to fit the AIO cooler's cold plate on the GPU die. ** I tried using VRM and VRAM heatsinks with little luck getting them to stick. Not having them on my 980 Tis or 1080 hasn't limited their overclocks, and I've measured their temps, and the immediate surrounding area, with an IR gun and the VRMs are quite cool compared to what was reported by the recent 1070/1080 FTW VRM heat debacle. Like, 60 To 70C cool, with the VRAM being much cooler at 40 To 50C (looping valley while OCed to 2202/5557 MHz).

Depends on what you're looking for in your hybrid. Do you want a cool card? Yeah Hybrids do a good job at that (Provided you get one that works as intended -> See my experience with the cards: https://forums.evga.com/GTX-980ti-Hybrid-70c-m2522976.aspx) Do you want to overclock it like crazy? Nah get a card with custom PCB. Those Hybrids have a stock PCB so don't expect amazing overclocking results from them unless you're lucky and winn the silicon lottery. Noise? Depends on luck and what fans you're running. If you're lucky the pump is quiet, if you're unlucky then meh. I don't get why EVGAs pump is so loud. I mean, it's jus a CPU AIO that was put on a GPU, isn't it? My h100i GTX pump is REALLY QUIET even with it set to performance mode. Do you want your computer to double as a room heater? Liquid cool all the things.

Liquid or Air cooling makes no difference on heat transmitted to a room.

Heat transfer needs to happen in someway for a card to stay cool. A radiator or a heatsink will have to radiate heat and that will eventually heat up the room.
