Re:How-to: Live Folding Signature 2011/06/07 09:33:16 (permalink)
i have a dedicated windows server unhappyelf if you want i can add some small hosing for ya and your friends sigs
i have mssql and mysql installed and running

you can host what ever you like on it it's my seed box
i limit seeding to about 50% of the servers bandwidth (dedicated 100Mbit up and down and no bandwidth caps)
i'm working on a flash/java sig builder not as fancy as your or mine but really close with size caps after 1024x768
making it multi use to some lvl
just pm me or talk on irc.rizon.net #techmasterjoe
i'm slowly changing my seed box over to a XDCC bot
server spec's
France based
dual E5620's
24GB of ECC 1333
6TB RAID 5+ spare
dual gigabit intel nic's to managed cisco hot brick (sets caps and burst speeds)
not god like but still a lot of power
UPDATE got rid of windows gadget system (pain)
sig toy lol
techmasterjoe.com/app/Sig_loader.gadget
because
it's inconsistent and blinks when updating (plus i know next to nothing about java)
http://techmasterjoe.com/app/TechMasterSig.zip
ver 1.0.0.0
real app requires .net 2.0 (it's in C sharp)
reason
it took less time to make then gadget app
can hide it to tray and still have it update
really small (190KB)
made it store setting as local .config (in XML format)
so it's portable

well i never had any probs with my hosting
i have total control over my server
the only time i even talk to them is if i need a hard reboot or something like that (only happen once)
i did use the server as a game server for both UT3 and UT2k4
but after sending my cpu's in and more ram to be installed i stop playing most games out side a few not well known mmo's i spend my days now in books on coding C# and C++
one easy & one real
still learning java it just seams so backwards at times
(and that's coming from someone that speaks Japanese)
well atm most my seeding is done from home as it's where all my anime is plus i have 90mbps down 40mbps up so it's not bad as far as bandwidth is i do have a real server in my house to limit bandwidth per ip outgoing that what techmasterjoe.com runs on (atm. soon it will get moved to the server as it has a torrent hosting backend)
i do respect copyright laws and plan to stay that way
btw my sig is cut off lol space on home server is tracked as well
i got 46.2TB total space across 2 raid 5 arrays
(only one is for anime)

how you like the gadget ?

just for the people that want to know or even people i have done sigs for in the past i post all sigs on my site
http://techmasterjoe.com
under custom sigs
if i ever move the server or ip's or anything like that
the url to my site will not change and i keep the img's updated on that page so if a sig stops working check that site
because it's path url may have changed
btw leaving a comment is a quick way to request a custom sig
just leave links to background image(s) and or layout idea's
as you can tell from my sig, unhappyelf and I are the only people with working graph system in place.
I'm sure both of us will help you with your own if needed

for the life of me I can not get your chart to work.. the demo charts and graphs load just fine. I just can not get the graph to load either by itself or integrated in the sig script.

when loading by itself i get a blank screen. when its integrated, it never is drawn, just the stuff you see in my sig now, displays.

I gave up on trying to get the chart working at one stage I thought it was working when just running it by itself but then without me changing anything it decided to stop working and hasn't worked since.

if you would like to have comma's on your numbers, like your ppd or total points or whatever... here is how you do it...

ImageString($im, 1, 90, 195, number_format ($row['Points']), $wc);

notice the number_format () function -- whether its from a row within an array or a variable itself just put that in between the () and it will add the commas where appropriate.

To be honest it was very difficult to make it work.

Fyi, my graph is a separate from the main sig. Here is the link to my file http://kbates666.gotdns.com/folding/test3.png , it is then copied to my sig.

mcyhanick cool sig!

i couldn't get the test3.png "text file" to work by itself. The examples from the graphing class were working flawlessly. Just something with the test3.png not working. I would get a blank page.

Great thread thanks to all the contributors

I got the test3.png to work. I needed to edit the paths to the fonts and the pChart2.1.1 directory.

What is not clear is what code is needed to copy the graph.png to the sig.png.

Re:How-to: Live Folding Signature 2011/07/15 12:58:41 (permalink)
this is how I did it

$im = imagecreatefrompng($image);
$im2 = imagecreatefrompng('http://kbates666.gotdns.com/folding/test3.png');
imagecopy($im, $im2, 410, 160, 0, 0, 360, 90);

My apologizes to anyone with one of my signatures or is trying to get some files from one of my links.

Sometime yesterday my server HD died. I am rebuilding the server but it may take me a little time.

I will have it up as soon as possible.

Obviously, I have most of the functions back. There are a few people with uploads to my server that are not working still, and will continue not to until I get the ftp server working externally.

Do you have a web server setup at all?
If not I can host something for you.
