A very good article in my opinion covering most every possible way to force quit windows.

    A lot of different methods for closing various things here.  I've always simply relied on the task manager for closing a hung program/app and the computers reset button for a total hung PC.

    A total PC hang, if frequent in nature, indicates a possible issue that should be investigated in my opinion.

    A total PC hang, if frequent in nature, indicates a possible issue that should be investigated in my opinion. 


    I'm talking about a rare, not frequent OS hang or lockup.  In my opinion, if you have frequent total PC hangs, you have much bigger issue's going on.  Time for a system restore or possibly a method of reinstalling the OS at that point.  Unless you suspect the drive the OS is on may be dying or defective of course.

    And for those pesky game crashes that cause the game screen to permanently get stuck blocking access to the task manager, Win+Ctrl+D will spawn a new desktop and Win+tab will bounce between them. Can open and access the task manager on the new desktop to kill off hung games/programs on the main desktop. 


    Have water, will cool.
