i play alot on call of duty 2/3 hours at day but in the weekend generally also 7/8 ahahah to much but i live in a small city and gaming is only good things to do atm

I used to play online all the time, mostly shooters (CS, Tribes, UT), but nowadays I dislike most of what is out. Maybe BF6 can change that, we'll see.

Online games allow you to do something with other people in a very convenient fashion. With the varied lifestyles of gamers in all sorts of countries it's only sensible to use technology to fill in the gaps when people start moving, working serious jobs, and starting families... especially given the human malware of the last 2 years.
I'm playing games that can be played on or offline atm: Valheim, Civ VI, and NMS. Since everyone is vaccinated my D&D group is back on in person, if that makes you feel any better.

I play online everyday it is normal now but it does feel good to play some games that have a campaign and stories offline once in a while.

Being able to socialize in the comfort of your own home is very appealing. although lately nothing really excites me enough to want to play it. Maybe I'm just burnt out from logging too many hours of gaming since I was a kid.

I rarely play online games, mostly because I mess around to much or wander off somewhere on my own to check things out like a RPG player lol. so I usually stick with offline games.

I just enjoy the mayhem of online playing. I enjoy beating human opponents over ai bots.

With SimRacing I like to dial in my setup offline but do my practicing and racing online. I love the challenge and going wheel-to-wheel with another person is exhilirating.

What do you mean by live communication? Like face to face? Then the reason people prefer online is because it is more convenient.
Also you can play online, and that is a huge reason why. People love to play online.

If the game has it, I'll play online. Unless they pull a Yakuza 0, a beat em up that has Mahjong as an online minigame.

I mostly play online games. I like the competitive and collaborative aspect of online gaming.
When I was younger I spent a lot of time on voice comms, IRC etc. with friends/clans/guilds, but I don't really make friends online anymore. I don't have the time (due to work and family commitments), so I prefer games where I can just hop on and play a game for a couple of hours with random people.
I get nostalgic for the community aspect of gaming though! I do miss it, but there just isn't enough time in the day 😁

I play Destiny 2 religiously so pretty often. I play with people from UK, Hungary, Denmark, Iran and Croatia. But I still appreciate single-player games because you can't get lost in a game when you're speaking to someone over comms.

I'm generally on everyday. And for me, playin with my friends online is convenient, we can still hang out and mess around just on a different space. It should supplement interactions though, not replace them.

I only manage a few hours a week, but I have young kids who keep me busy most of the day. By the time they go to sleep I don't have the energy to game.

Same here. I practice mostly against the AI but racing with live opponents really lets you experience the racing aspects. Used to play a lot of BF4 and BF1 online, but not so much lately. I'd rather race.

I play nearly all of my games online except for the solely single player games I have. The only genre where I have a pure preference of online over offline however probably has to go to the RTS series due to the sheer amount of quality pvp is versus pve especiall in Men Of War Assault Squad 2 and War Game Red Dragon, although admittedly War Game Red Dragon has made an awe inspiring set of stories for their single player campaigns, all of which I would wish to see further expansion there of.
The sky is my only limit!

When I was deployed I played online with my kids several times a week. Now that I'm home not so much, though I want to. My problem is I don't have a ton of time to devote to games, so even if I do get in with a good group of people I meet online, I end up not being able to keep up in progression based games.
