EVGA US Price $879.99 (plus Tax etc i would assume) Europe Price 771.99 Euros (do not know about taxes here) those equate to  £621.51 and £662.33 respectively, even adding on 20% tax  £745.81 and £794.79
 
But they are wanting £998.99, that's a £204.20 mark up over 25%, and the only QUICK way to get it is to buy a WHOLE computer that You do not need from them!!!
 
I understand that EVGA have to sell their products, and after this is all over, they will need the retail outlets , but in mean time, should they not be focusing on their OWN sales first Above retail?
 
Another Annoyance about this Whole Situation, is that the Orange One decreed that Imports to the USA have to have a Levy laid upon them, and EVGA has no choice but to pass that on (known from the start it would happen, the US consumer was always going to foot the bill) , but what has that to do with countries outside the USA , that DO not have any surcharges (other than certain areas with tit for tat)
 
At this Rate Had you Bought the RTX3090 at its Huge price upon release, you might actually have got it cheaper than the 3080

I have been waiting since early December in EU. Has EVGA totally forgotten about EU customers or is the queue moving in EU at all at least to give at least a little bit of hope.

Put it this way, at least for step-up, I applied first day and still waiting 6 months later. So for step up, I wouldn't even bother. From what I hear notifications to buy aren't much better.

The question I have is why even have a product queue system when you could take prepayment and reserve your vid card? I understand that gpu companies are making money hand over fist right now but something has to give. great games are out and more are adding rtx support. I'm still using a gtx 980ti kingpin. While the card is holding up pretty well I want to experience games at a much faster rate lol. I want to try rtx. I held out on the 20 series because i knew the 30 series was coming. Had I only known then. This is ridiculous. I always tout EVGA to be the best of the best when it comes to customer service, product support and yes their products are just that good. I'm just at a loss for what to tell anyone including myself right now. I've been on atr stonks and am currently in the queue system through evga but I'm starting to realize that these companies don't care about gamers, only the money they are stuffing greedily into their pockets. rant over.

In USA u have to ship out within 30 days or have buyer request delay. It’s a headache for billing and accounting. If you don’t like the queue. Go with another retailer or aib like zotac and have fun with 503

I see that happening as well.  I signed up for any/all 3080's on 9/24...  they have 0 incentive to try and get us cards before April 16th.  I bet many of us get emails the following week though.

That would be the best outcome you could hope for since the reality is you probably still won't get an email. Lol

There's been about 8 People* in front of me for over a month. I'm now guessing they are holding the cards and will send out the emails on/around April 16th in order to get people to pay the higher prices.

For a while. I was completely defending EVGA and was happy waiting.
 
Now, I think that anything is possible and likely. Except of course the 3080 FTW3 Ultra queue ever catching up to me.

The term you were looking to use is 'smoke screen'. Not smoking screen. Another reference is smoke and mirrors.
 
It really isn't a 'smoke screen' if you are using the phrase correctly. It is usually referred to as a means to get you to look away from something so they can distract you from seeing something specific.
 
The queue, is just not a part of EVGA's agenda, business model. It was only ever done to placate their customers so that they didn't have to deal with thousands of emails daily if not hourly.
 
More than likely the only cards they release to the queue are the 3 or 5 video cards out of their total production for a given week or two that were not part of an order to send out.
 
The only day they are going to care about us, is the day the mining bubble breaks and the franchises tell them not to send any more video cards. Then, we will finally be taken seriously as customers so they don't have half a million video cards sitting around unsold.
 
EVGA has lost my respect. You don't value your customers by ignoring them.
 
 

The system probably will catch up since the initial sign up was massive but now when people feel like it will take forever they probably are not signing up as much. When supply breaks through the initial demand it could really speed up.

And if you are waiting for a 3080, quite possible the 3080ti will be launched before you get a notification. 3080 would still be a solid card but won't seem as good at that point.
