This is through my DSL line. I pay $50/month for unlimited phone and *advertised* 8Mbps internet.

I'm upgrading to FiOS on October 3rd, however, which all comes from the same building about 1.2 miles away (Cavalier uses Verizon lines, I guess that's why my DSL is so much faster than advertised)

And that is more than thrice the speed (download) of my old Satellite ISP, Hughesnet - DirecWay. Sadly this is the fastest Internet connection available in my area. My old ISP, max peak speed:

See my primary ModsRigs: Adam for the rest, and I have a second (wife's) rig Asus Rampage III Extreme & 960: Eve.

Overclocking is useless to me if it is not rock stable.

It looks like a technical college, which always have amazingly high speeds. There's speedtests of Georgia Tech students hitting 600+ Mbps.

Right-o.
They limit our upload, but as you can see, DL's are blazing fast.
They have dual Fiber lines which last I heard were OC-3 grade.
If you figure tuition into my bill, I'm paying $3,550 a month for internet

During the test I hit 35, but I'm currently streaming a netflix movie.
So I'm not too bad.

I've got Time Warner's 40 a month road runner basic I think.

Re:How fast is your ISP? 2011/11/20 19:54:59 (permalink)
I had frontier as an ISP. was paying 45 a month for 7.1mb down, 768k up.  On average got about 3mb/s down and got hte full 768k up always.  Said enough of it and switched to comcast business

I'm paying for 12/2 at 60 a month and here is the results.  The latency is actually thrown off, they gave me a modem/router combo when i only needed a modem as i have a cisco firewall.  The router itself is so crap it actually adds about 17ms of latency from what i measured.  So if it wasn't for that i would have very low ping as well.
