How do I interpret the specs on the GT710?

I have a GT710.  It has three monitor connections,  DVI-D, HDMI and a VGA.  The specs state that the max digital resolution is 4096x2160 and the max analog resolution is 2048x1536.  Does this mean that I can connect two UHD (4k) monitors and one VGA monitor to this card and run an extended desktop?  I currently have two 1080p and one VGA monitor in an extended desktop configuration and I want to replace the two 1080p monitors with two 4k monitors. Is this possible with this card?

No two 4k monitors can't be used with it.

Not very helpful Sajin.  Why not?  How do I interpret those specs?

4096x2160 means the card can support up to 8,847,360 pixels. A single 4k monitor is 8,294,400 pixels. Two would equal 16,588,800 pixels which is way outside of what the card can support.

As said, maximum digital resolution and maximum analog resolution is a combined total of all digital outputs and all analog outputs. It's not 4096x2160 for each digital output, it's 4096x2160 total of all digital outputs. So, one high resolution monitor decreases resolution available to a second digital monitor. Yeah , it's kind of a funny way to specify capability, but it does sort of make sense to list the combined total limit instead of listing all possible combinations of supported resolutions.

Ok so in my current configuration I have two 1920x1080 Monitors connected to the digital connections of the card and one 1680x1050 Monitor connected to the analog connections on the card.  By my calculations that totals to 5,911,200 pixels and well within the 8,294,400 pixels maximum of the card.  I am assuming that any configuration of those monitors is ok since I have them in extended desktop and side by side for a total of 5520 pixels wide (this is more than the 4096 in the spec).

So if I want to upgrade to 4k monitors I can only have one with this card and no other monitors.

Can I install a second GT710 and connect more monitors that way?

8,847,360 pixels is the max limit for all the digital outputs combined. 3,145,728 pixels is the max limit for all the analog outputs combined. You could run a 4k monitor on a digital output, and one 2560x1080 monitor on the analog output which would max out the cards limits. Yes, running another gt710 will allow you to run 2 4k monitors.

Ok so I can throw in that second GT710, add a 4k and a 1920x1080 analog input monitor and keep my current 3 monitors connected to my already installed GT710.  That would give me 5 monitors.  Will I be able to drag windows between the monitors on different cards?  Can I expand a window across monitors on different cards?
