I seen a post with 72 cards being sold at once on ebay, all evga 3060ti (the one I've been waiting for for 6 months in a queue). Are these being sold straight to scumbag scalpers or did they steel a truck. Those were being sold for 82k. Disgusting. How did one person get so many cards and most of us can't even get one at msrp. Are people steeling trucks, back room shady deals, what gives?

What is evga and nivida doing to stop scalpers and miners so we can actual buy cards. If they don't they will kill the pc gaming industry.

Some buy in bulk as a company. I seen it explained I think on Youtube. They create a company put in an order sell them on Ebay.

They don't see anything because they don't want to look. from a company standpoint I would rather sell 100 cards in one transaction rather than 100 cards in 100 transactions. those 100 transactions will have problems like declined payument, lost shipping, RMA's. and all need time and energy to be fulfilled. it sucks but welcome to business 101 "make as much cash for as little effort as possible"

scalper bot programs are very sophisticated & can also snap up every card put up for sale at Amazon, Bestbuy ,..etc... in the blink of an eye .   Most people do not have a chance against such automatic purchasing bots and pretty much no company has done anything about it.

Bot systems are very easy to set up as long as you're willing to front the cash to buy them first. People use cloud computing to proxy massive bot projects and simply buy nearly every GPU. This is because a thousand instances of a bot that doesn't trip any rate limits from sites like BB, Amazon, and Newegg can very easily check the stock as often as possible and just use whichever bot notices first to immediately buy it, and then have every other bot try their luck as well. This is of course pretty expensive, but when you can double your investment on nearly every purchase, it doesn't really matter.

I don't understand how bots don't trip over themselves however?

Like, I imagine, there are competing bot programs among scalpers/services... The way automation will bang against a site, how don't they avoid tripping on each other and getting nothing for everyone in the end?

    Like, how?

I'm sure they also had a team of people that went to every reseller and purchased them all up at MSRP, even probably crossing state lines like they did with hand sanitizers and toilet paper.

Magic. Seriously though, forking over money for bots. We have no chance against that.

Nvidia? Nothing. There's CCP owned farms with literally tens of thousands of cards from the floor to the ceiling. Most cards never hit retail, they're sold straight out of production in bulk to the Chinese. Miner's money is just as green as gamer's.

I really despise bots (people who use them) and scalpers which pretty much go hand in hand. Hopefully with cryptocurrency going down we will see the market open up more.

Google reviews of my local compute stores says that many of them are not actually selling them, but instead re-selling them online at scalper price. Idk if true, but it would make sense given how capitalism corrupts.

While this sounds possible, how do I learn more about what is happening with bots?

Go into stock tracking streams. Amazon is an actual joke, you can't grab anything that shows up in stock.

It's at the point where if you need a card you might as well buy a pre-built.

I caved in and bought a 3080 ftw3 from stock x. Once it arrives and it works I will remove myself from the 3070ti ftw3 queue so someone else gets a chance. I was at 7:08am 6/10/21 in the queue.

If anyone buys in huge bulk from a retailer or distributor there is nothing a manufacturer can do about it.

There are several twitch and YouTube streams that show real time inventory and give links to in stock cards.  They have programs that run through proxy servers and check inventory every 5-15 seconds.  I know a few people that got new RTX 3000 series cards that way by having the streams run in the background on their days off from work or in the evenings.

I read this article recently on UK PCMAG website:

"Data from eBay indicates that scalpers have resold over 100,000 Nvidia RTX 3000 graphics cards, often at twice their normal price."

How are normal users supposed to compete?

less then what EVGA, MSI, ASUS, etc... are doing, scalping themselves. And if they weren't doing it themselves there would be less cards on ebay anyway. But this shouldn't be a surprise
