You can run both the Old and New Microsoft Edge browsers side-by-side for evaluation, comparison, to keep, or whatever, with a simple registry edit.

This way, your Old Edge won't get disabled/hidden when you install the New Edge and you'll have both to use/choose from..Or, if you already installed the New Edge and would like to have the Old Edge back again too.

Here is a nice tutortial on how to do it, but I've added my own 'enhanced' way of doing it below..This works really slick, and nothing is lost.

In a nutshell, Create a Sytem Restore Point (always create a System Restore Point before mucking around in the registry), then:
1. Press WIN+R keys together to open RUN dialog box, then type in regedit and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
2. Go to following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft
3. Right-click on the Microsoft key and create a New Key and name it EdgeUpdate.
4. Select the EdgeUpdate key, then in the right-side pane, right-click in an empty area and make a New -> DWORD (32-bit) Value. Name the new DWORD to Allowsxs, press Enter, then double-click it and set its Value data to 1.
5. Done..Close regedit..Install the New Edge and the Old Edge will be there too, in the same configuration as it was before.

If you want to return to installing just the New Edge and disabling/hiding the Old (Legacy) Edge.
1. Uninstall the New Edge by right-clicking on it in the Start button menu.
2. Go back into regedit and delete the EdgeUpdate key, or, change the Allowsxs Value data to 0, close regedit and then install the New Edge..It'll automatically disable and hide the Old Edge.
3. Done..You'll just be using just the New Edge now.

If you have already installed the New Edge and want the Old Edge back too, uninstall the New Edge from the Start button menu, then follow the steps 1-5 in the first part above.

All, easy peasy.

Don't worry about uninstalling the New Edge because your Old Edge is still there the same as it was before, but was just hidden by the New Edge..If you don't want the New Edge at all, you can just simply uninstall the New Edge and your Old Edge will take it's place again and in the same configuration as you had it before.

     Cool...

Seems that Microsoft thought their version of EdgeHtml was way too problematic and too expensive to fix.

    Thanks.

Yeah this works perfect for me here..I can choose to run the new, the old, or even both at the same time..Not ready to completely abandon the old quite just yet, or if at all, will see what transpires in the future.

Don't know if any security vulnerabilities were specifically addressed, but Micr$haft is always addressing them.
