Hour and half in broken elite member checkout for 3090 FTW3 Ultra. $1800, and they won't take it.

That's just for 1. One card. The sad part is I need 2 of them. One for me, one for my kid. At this rate, they won't even get one for christmas.

First world problems. Yeah, so what. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a website shopping cart to function in 2020. Back in 1995, maybe even 2005... it was forgivable. Today? No, I expect websites to function.

No pre-order. No back-order. EVGA and nvidia want people to waste time. It's a fact.

I tried to buy a 3090 myself today. Only because I can't get a 3080. I really don't care that I didn't get it but the time I wasted trying to check out after getting one in my cart again is unacceptable. I just get a site error. I mean whats your website budget EVGA? You can't even stay up for website traffic. That's not good.

We run a website and a high traffic server. If our server and website did this my provider would comp us for the month. We got a massive DDoS attack that brought down the whole data center and it was fixed in 30 minutes. They were so apologetic and even offered to move our server to a higher security data center for free to make it safer from attack and comped us a month.

I've always thought very highly of Nvidia and EVGA. Nvidia has not helped their case after the 2000 series prices. As soon as the competition went away prices went up. That shows what you really care about. Nvidia and EVGA can't even keep their websites up for a product launch.

Seriously, at this point I'm hoping AMD just CRUSHES nvidia with their launch. Even if their cards are just "competitive" and not much faster... I am sick of this. Nothing would make me happier at this point than to see everyone responsible for this to get absolutely DUMPSTERED financially. It's about the only thing that would make me happy after wasting my time like this.

If that's true I might end up buying a 3090, even though it's not the most optimal financial investment video card wise (hp/$ or fps/$). I'm honestly tired of this crap, although I believe EVGA is actually taking steps to get these cards in legitimate hands, the website turning in to mush every time they try to sell the cards is absolutely infuriating. Plus, I have a 4K/60Hz monitor, am looking to get a 4K/144Hz (or 120Hz) monitor sometime next year, and I do a lot of VR gaming on the Index, with 120Hz screen. So the overhead wouldn't be as big of a waste to me as it would 1440p players.

It is hopeless. Two launches now I've tried, I get as far as the shopping cart checkout and I am stuck staring at spinning bubbles. It NEVER goes through, not on my phone, not on my multiple desktops, etc. It's astounding to me that EVGA screws this up so bad. I'm on a 1GB fiber line as well and I've cleared my browser cache before each launch and turned off all adblocking / etc. The problem is EVGA not using a CDN or any further protection to beef up their website.

Does Nvidia forbid you from selling me plastic gamecards in different tiers, that are redeemable for my choice of any 1 video card? Let's say my tier 5 gamecard is worth $1800. That would let me pick from any prize worth less than $1800. Seems fair to me.

I would think the 3090 will be easier to get? Is there any indication from previous generations that the higher end cards aren't as in demand? I'm just guess, actually... hoping!

Hang in there, the prices are falling on ebay. I think this means that supply is catching up to demand and that people aren't paying thousands to the resellers.
