Hi all,

I'm looking to replace the stock fan on my EVGA 1080 FTW Hybrid card. I tried replacing it with a Fractal Design Venturi HP-12 PWM fan but temperatures suffered (+ 8°C on load!). So, I'm looking for a tried and tested fan that performs as well as the stock fan but is quieter.

These are the fans I'm looking at now: Gentle Typhoon 1850 RPM; Gentle Typhoon 2150 RPM; Noctua SSO2 Bearing, Retail Cooling NF-F12 iPPC 2000 IP67 PWM

Thanks in advance for the help,
~ Dpower20

Corsair sp120 high performance. Good and tested on 2 1080 ftw cards in the past. 1 in push was good enoigh.. 2 in push pull didn't make a noticeable difference in my setup.

Thanks for the suggestion! Do you think the new ML120 from Corsair would be a better choice?

No idea as those came out later on. Expensive.. would have to read the reviews.

Looks like the ML120s are louder than the SP120s. There seems to be many different versions of the SP120s now, some with higher max RPMs and some with lower max RPMs. Did you get the LED version with lower max RPM or the non-LED version with higher max RPM?

CORSAIR ML120 PRO x2 PP Combo.
Or eventually EKWB Vardar F3 120.

CORSAIR ML120 PRO are probably best radiator fans on market at the moment.
Only reason I didn't bought 2 of them are I'm not sure radiaot 240 or 280mm.

They are far better than old SP120.
SP120 is great fan but this is revolutionary design and people are very satisfied.
Guys who change often fans and tried many of them say they are best now.

I'm not sure the ML120s are actually quieter than the SP120s. YouTube videos note that the ML120s tend to have motor stutter (check out the video below, ~5:01).

I'm debating between the SP120s and some variant of the Gentle Typhoons now.

I just popped an ML140 on mine and was pleasantly surprised. It was quieter than the SP140 I had and moves more air than a TT Riing RGB. I'm using mine on a 140mm rad cooling my CPU. I'm going to get another for my 1080 Ti FTW3 Hybrid.

I'd attach a photo but I'm too stupid to figure it out.
