Hi,

I use a linux server, so I cannot use the usual files to update my BIOS.
I currently have 2 broken BIOS's.
They do not allow the PC to turn on.
Fortunately I have a third :) TY!

I need to reflash the BIOS file on those to fix it.
Without installing Windows, is there a way to do this?

It's been a while, but you can easily create a bootable USB drive with Rufus and put your BIOS and the BIOS flash utility on it, then run the flash utility command lines (or the executable, I think)..Rufus creates a DOS (Disk Operating System) drive to boot from, you don't need a conventional operating system such as Windows or Linux..Used Rufus a few times to flash the VBIOS in graphics cards outside a conventional operating system environment too..Good luck.

    Welcome to the Forum marshy919

Under the X99 you can update your BOIS in the Bios.
After you are in the Bios change to Bios Switch to one of the Bad ones and update the Bios Restart and do the Same on the Other Bad one.
PS Reset your Bios to the Default Setting Before You Date The Bios, the small Red Button will do this for you as your Power On Your Computer Press and Old it for a count of 5 and then release.
A Rest or updating the Bios can take LONGER the MORE Memory you have installed and may restart once or twice to read the Memory and set it.
Put the Bios File on a DOS Boot USB Stick and you can also save your Current Settings to the USB Stick and use it the set the Bios of the other Two.
You cannot use a saved Bios form an older Bios Number to a New Bios Number and the other way as well New to Old.

Also under what bob16314 above said with a DOS or Windows 98 Boot USB you can update the Bios DO NOT REBOOT change the Bios Switch and run the same file to update the other Bios. Doing this after the 2nd Bios is completed do not restart the computer Power it Off then change back to the One Bios that is Working then Power Back on.

Sorry, cant quite understand that 100%.

    Is this right?

    Have BIOS file on USB
    Boot to BIOS
Switch to corrupt BIOS via motherboard switch
Flash BIOS file off the USB
Reset to default settings using BIOS settings
    Reboot
    Boot to BIOS
    Repeat

    Sounds right to me.

The only thing to add is that I think the USB needs to be formatted as Fat32 and not as NTFS or other, newer file systems. Though I could be mistaken and it will work.
