I can't tell what size compression fittings I was running. I build my loop so long ago I can't remember what I went with.

I'm trying to measure with my calipers but I'm not sure where to take ID and OD measurements from.

Do I remove the compression sleeve and measure all the way at the bottom of the barb where it is wider than the top?

Is there any guide to doing this or any quick easy way to find out?

I think I'm 3/8 ID but OD I can't tell. Also do I measure ID from where the barb screws into the res, block or rad......or do I measure from the other side where the hose connects?

were the tube connects, the other side is the G 1/4 connector. also use your caliper to measure the hose outside, if its 1/2" or 13mm then it will be 3/8 or 10mm ID.

But do not measure where the Barb has Expanded the Hose

So, grabbed one of my spare EK 1/2 inch barbs & my Standard and Metric dial calipers to measure

    DIA - Below barbs = 14mm or .550 inch

ID - inside barb end = 12mm  or .473 inch

    Hope this helps

Thanks all! I was measuring all possibilities, now I know I have 3/8" ID, just gotta check the OD of the old hose. Think I need two more compression fittings, get some weird angles!

So if I measure the middle of the outside of the hose I'm getting 11/16....any ideas?

    I think I may be 1/2 x 3/4" actually....

Well, 12/16 would be 3/4 of a inch, so your measurement is a special hair shy of that. :)

    All are Standard Sizes

Best Size to use Large or 1/2?
    ID: 13mm (1/2")
    OD: 19mm (3/4")
    Wall: 3mm (1/8")
    Intended Tubing Size

     Thin Tubing will kink up.
     ID: 13mm (1/2")
    OD: 16mm (5/8")
    Wall: 1.5mm (1/16")
    Intended Tubing Size

For Smaller Tubing this is Best

    ID: 10mm (3/8")
    OD: 16mm (5/8")
    Wall: 3mm (1/8")
    Intended Tubing Size

    Thin Tubing will kink up.
    ID: 10mm (3/8")
    OD: 13mm (1/2")
    Wall: 1.5mm (1/16")
    Intended Tubing Size

what are you using to measure with? digital calipers would be best. you could have thick wall 3/8 x 5/8 tubing which will let you make tighter bends with out kinking.
