Background:
I bought the FTW3 2080 TI.  I bought it directly from the EVGA website. I bought it during the BF5 promo. I have provided proof of all these facts.

Issue:
Finally built my coveted dream-machine.
3 days of putting my meager tech skills to the test and she's ready for a test run, time to fire her up and begin to download BF5.
Whoops!!! Try to redeem the promo and no dice. What?

Contact support, input all correct info, work it back a forth on the phone twice and the Response:
Piss in the wind, bud.. promo's over. Try Nvidia.
Contact Nvidia, piss in the wind bud. Promo's over.

I don't want an explanation or excuse, I've gotten plenty of those.
I want to let the next guy know that EVGA will not honor their Promos and I want to vent.

I think its a big case of BS that the activation date and not the purchase date is criteria for redemption.
I think its a big case of BS that EVGA claims they have no codes when they are CURRENTLY running an IDENTICAL PROMO for the SAME GAME right now.
I think its a big case of BS that for a premium card EVGA won't bend over backwards to make the situation right even if they have to bite the bullet and ask for a new code on my behalf.

I don't like writing stuff like this but I think EVGA is in the wrong and maybe other people have had similar experiences can share if they've made progress receiving games they've purchased.

It's an NVIDIA promotion. There's nothing anyone at EVGA could do to help you, short of buying you a copy using their own personal or corporate credit card, even if they wanted. If you want to rant about it, I encourage you to rant about it on NVIDIA's forum. The promotion is an agreement between NVIDIA and the game publisher. EVGA has no keys to give.

    Edit: ...

    ...EVGA Experience...

Umm, no. GeForce Experience. Don't pin this on EVGA. It's NVIDIA's promotion and NVIDIA's GeForce Experience application.

You were told what you needed to do and you didn't do it. Maybe you misread the requirements. Maybe you just forgot to take care of it in time. I hate it when I do something like that.

But how is that anyone's fault but your own?

EDIT: "I think its a big case of BS that for a premium card EVGA won't bend over backwards to make the situation right"

A company should only bend over backwards to make a situation right when the company has made a mistake. EVGA has done nothing wrong...so what is there for them to make right?

    Welcome to the Forum

Yep! Get your New Product and Open it up and make sure all is ok and check the Serial Number on the Card is the same as on the Box and then Complete Product Registration Pay for any Extras like Extended Warranty and best to Invoice Upload Even if you bought the Product from EVGA's Website. This is not really for Game Codes that are given out by NVIDIA but for EVGA's Setup-Up Program and buying Extended Warranty and even Advanced RMA if you so wished. And any other Features like Free Game Codes PROMO's by NVIDIA.
Waiting a (Day or Two OK) But a Few Weeks or Months is poor judgment on your part and not something to be blaming on EVGA or even NVIDIA.
This is a great Lesson Learned for all others as well.
And if you want to really Vent then do so on NVIDIA Forum as it is their PROMO, as this is said so many times Year and Year and Year.

Looks like you missed this as well "Register To Get a Free Trim Kit With Your EVGA GeForce RTX 20-Series Card"

                                                                  This promotion is now closed.
                                                                    This Promo Was By EVGA

OK I am al done now, I only wanted to vent a little.

I had no issue with the promo's or the trim kit . Game promos were a pain cause or the process was not just enter a code and done, but they both worked!

I might as well add that I had no issue redeeming mine either.

I purchased my card on 12-24-18 and redeemed the code on 1-10-19.

This is the message I received from Nvidia

         "Hello,

Thank you for contacting Nvidia Customer Care. My name is Josh and I will be assisting with                 your case. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do here. The codes come directly from the                     retailers and the promotion is while supplies last. If the retailer is out of codes then that is it.                We do not have codes to give out. I apologize but this is how the promotion works.

                Regards,
                  Josh
                  NVCC"

So the retailer in this case would be EVGA. Second, They have codes once again, they are runnin THE SAME PROMOTION. Thank you for reading.

And the Codes are give to The Retailer by NVIDIA and when a retailer runs out that is it, Frist Come First Serve.
    "While Supplies Last"
I did not make the Frist Round last year and missed out myself.
Then a few days before the next Promotion I got another pair of cards and Missed out for a Second Time.
But then on the Frist Promotion form last year EVGA got some more Codes and I was able to get two Game Codes.
But then I just gave them away because I had just spent $80 for BFV so that is lust how life works.

I am glad you got your freebies (Aside, did you catch the Anthem beta? Thoughts?)

    ColbyMunson,

You didn’t state when your card was purchased, when you finally built the system, and the date you tried to redeem the code. Had you already put your information into the webpage to register your card, and then requested the code at that time, or was it purchased, and not registered until after the promotion was closed?

The promotion closed over a month ago as far as I am aware, but I haven’t been following it closely.

As far as I can gather, the reason he has given us no specifics is that he failed do what he was instructed to do, and now for some reason believes that EVGA must "bend over backwards" to fix his mistake.

If I'm wrong I will apologize, but I implied this much earlier and he has thus far not corrected me. I've screwed up like this many times, but I never expect another human being to take responsibility for my own mistakes. Maybe that's what they teach in school these days, but that's certainly not how Real Life™ works.

GAHAH, I understand now that you are appalled that I expected helpful, possibly even maybe over-the-top customer support from a company I just handed a sweet chunk of changed by purchasing one of the most over-the-top, premium-priced product ever offered in it's class, in history and that's no exaggeration. It's so silly to me that someone would opt to Oliver Twist this with a hat in hand: Please sir may I have some more? Sheesh! I'm not asking for the moon here, people. I expect a deal redeemed when I put my cash down. Pretty cut and dried.

I thought "I bought the FTW3 2080 TI.  I bought it directly from the EVGA website. I bought it during the BF5 promo. I have provided proof of all these facts" was as clear as crystal. Sorry you didn't pick that up. I did not mess anything up, I don't think. The card was purchased on 12/4/19. From the EVGA website. During the BF5 promo. I provided proof to EVGA and to Nvidia of these facts. What else were you wondering?

This company is currently, presently, as we are speaking, giving out keys for literally the exact same thing when I made the purchase.
AND THEN had the balls to say they don't have anymore keys. Outlawii has said he got them both.

If my tone comes across as hostile I apologise,  I am taken aback by the hostility and "You must have done it wrong" vibe I'm getting here. Sure didn't expect that!

I wondered the rest of what I asked, all the parts that weren’t answered. Did you wait nearly 2 months to build the system, and then register the video card after?

While the game in the new promotion is the same, The code would be tied to the original promotion, which ended over a month ago?

I ask, because there is a very specific detail That May have been missed, but I am trying to be understanding and helpful to you.

If you want to be short and angry with what seems to be one of the few people that isn’t being judgemental, then I can walk away and just make sure no terms of service violations occur.

Please answer the questions in full, as I would like to help. You are coming off as hostile when I am trying to do my best to understand.

That is why I asked, right there.

In the terms of service, it states that all codes must be redeemed prior to January 31, 2019.

I wanted to make sure the request was submitted prior to the 31st at least.

Now, I know this part isn’t something you will want to hear, BUT, the codes for the previous promotion are tied “through Nvidia and GEForce experience” to the original promotion. The new codes are tied to the new promotion.

More than likely, the old codes had already run out as it had been quite a while after the promotion closed before the request was submitted.

Give me a little time, and I will see if I can find a way to help.

You've read what I've written, so you know I'm not trying to twist anything. Yes, "I have provided proof of all these facts" is clear. But you didn't specify when you provided all of that info--which is just as important as the info itself--so I simply assumed that you didn't do so within the allotted time.

If you did everything exactly as you were supposed to, then I apologize for assuming otherwise. But you do understand that the world is full of people who have no concept of personal responsibility, and who post complaints online without providing the full details because the full details don't look good, lol. These are the people who always claim that Mail-In Rebates are scams, when in fact the reason they don't get their rebate is because they chose to follow the instructions the way they wanted to, instead of precisely the way they were written. So even though I shouldn't have, I assumed that you were playing loose with the facts.

If you attempted to complete the process before the expiration date and yet you did not get the game, I agree that that is rough. It is odd that they told you "promo is over" and not "I'm sorry, we have no more keys for this purchase period", since you contacted them within the promotional period.

Scarlet, I saw your PM. Site rules do not allow me to PM you back.
    Place Purchased: EVGA
    Purchase Date: 12/04/2018
    Date Registered: 2/2/2019 6:27:11 AM
Sounds like there won't be resolution- It is frustrating that they mentioned to you that they tie the promo key to the serial code of the card yet refuse to issue the key.
Thanks for inquiring on my behalf and then following up with me.

Got it. The biggest issue I see is that the Redeem by date for all of the former BFV promotion keys was explicitly labeled as 31 January 2019 in the NVidia terms and conditions. I know it can be frustrating, but previously you stated that you had requested the code on 20 January 2019, but without the card being registered, there is no way to submit the request and as you show, the registration was 2 February 2019.

Unfortunately, the cut off per Nvidia terms and conditions was missed by 3 days. https://www.nvidia.com/en.../terms-and-conditions/

In the future, when you receive the card, register it asap. Even EVGA and Nvidia understand that some people may even receive their cards as gifts, so they give a rather large grace period for redemption after the promotion closes.
