Probably because they read it as the same butt hurt review as I did? A lot of negativity in his review, which is to be expected from some there. I read a lot of unnecessary stupid comments from the reviewer, Paul Johnson . Just my opinion of course, I could be wrong. I'll stick with JohnyGuru myself.

While the testing methodology is good and performs a service, there is a definite anti-EVGA overtone to it. Of course this reviewer hated EVGA's marketing of the Folding team. However, there is no mention of all the corporate help they have received over the years. It's just one of those things. It is what it is. Read the numbers draw your conclusion and leave the bad taste behind.

The only thing i noticed that was "anti-evga" is on the first page. HardOCP wasn't the only community that didn't think it was right for a corporation pay people to fold for them. OCN community said pretty much the same thing. EVGA had to pay people to fold for them to have a chance at making the top 5 folding teams. I guess it shows EVGA is just like Nvidia. You call them out on anything they do. You will not receive any product samples. I like Johnnyguru (oklahomawolf) too. I like review sites that aren't afraid to speak their mind about products. Not too many sites are willing to do that because companies like EVGA will stop sending them review samples.

Strange how after HardOCP made a comment about EVGA paying people to fold for them. They haven't received a single review sample since. That couldn't be due to them calling EVGA out or anything. It's been how many years and evga still holds a grudge. As a product manager, don't you have the power to make the call and throw them bone as a peace offer Jacob.

Actually it goes back much further than that but there's no reason to get into it now. If you notice we do not actually send out a lot of samples, we have a limited number, and we work with a few select review sites/magazines. Not all reviews are 100% positive, and that is fine as long as it is fair. I am sure you can find a few over the years that may not have been 100% positive, yet we still work with them.

Does it go back long before you started working for eVGA Jacob? Was it HardOCP 2002 review of eVGA Ti4600 w/ACS² that earned them a spot on eVGA blacklist. If so, I don't see anything wrong with that review. They posted pictures and data to back up everything they claimed was wrong with that GPU. That was a fair review. If you have limited number of review samples to send out. Why do you waste them on sites like 3DGameMan that only do pointless overviews. Review sites that do a full test or stress test, cover all the basic info we see in 3DGameMan videos.

I understand why Jacob has all of a sudden gone quiet. EVGA doesn't want a public discussion about it's 12+ year old grudge they hold towards hardocp. Haven forbid a review site writes a real review instead of giving a company lip service.

Techpowerup, Jonhny Guru, Guru3D, example not write always perfect things about EVGA hardware, but they are pure experts and say everything real and always explain what they don't like. On their sites and on some others as PC Perspective, Legit Reviews, Ocaholic, Overclockers, High Tech Leg... I always find nice information, nice details and comparison between different cards, nice review beautiful pictures of boards and other hardware...detailed PSU testing with specialized equipment. Example TPU review of GTX780Ti Dual Classified where you can see everything you need to know what you get if you upgrade from GTX780 to GTX780Ti and different models of them in several games on different resolution. Some other sites show very nice and detailed pictures and video clips in high resolution. That's purpose to people see what they get for money from different angles. On every of them you can find and flaws and explanation that some things are maybe better on other brands. ASUS have much bigger budget and can provide much bigger number of samples and for testing but their eyes look and pay attention on every word.

Actually I just read the whole review on [H] and I still completely understand why EVGA would not include them on their list of review sites to send samples....so dripping with bias it is a joke. Even when it has good results in a bunch of areas they state that "there is really NOTHING to like about it." Then proceed to rip EVGA a new one in regards to the "warranty", then slam EVGA's marketing, platform choice, it's support, product image, hinting EVGA is unprofessional, the product names are bad, and whoever is in charge is doing a bad job .....but the PSU passes our testing which we have said in the past is rigorous and difficult to pass unless it is a good PSU.......oh and the price is good, but that sucks too because you really can't get a better PSU for cheaper because the better performing units are all more expensive. Yes, great unbiased review, please EVGA send everything you have to [H] for review, it would be great for business. .....but fun to read. I agree with Vlada, there are more than enough review sites out there to deal with so EVGA need not lose any sleep over [H]. Other than that I love HardOCP.....they just need to somehow remove the pickle.

That is your personal opinion, plus you have a bias towards evga. No one is saying to send every product evga makes to hardocp. Would it kill them to try and patch things up with them. Amazing what can happen when both sides want to improve things. The drama over folding, I would say it was good for folding over all. It gave both communities a reason to fold.

I have ZERO bias when it comes to EVGA, either for or against. I have called them out on crap in the past, and I have commended them on product successes when warranted. I have one EVGA product......a GTX285. I am affiliated with EVGA in no way other than accepting to abide by the TOS while posting on their forums. I agree with the folding part.

Given that I've read a lot of your previous posts regarding EVGA I'd say one could claim you have a bias against EVGA. So let's not go there shall we?

You don't think EVGA couldn't do a better job than what their currently doing. Jacob has even admitted, evga mobo bios isn't where it should be and X79 FTW/Classified had issues they can't fix with a bios update. Yet people come running to defend evga from any valid criticism. I haven't said anything about EVGA products that other people haven't already said. I will say what i think about any companies product. I'm not bias towards any hardware company. I like EVGA graphics cards. It's the only product line EVGA hasn't screwed up over the years.
