HTC has announced that their upcoming Vive Cosmos headset will become available to pre-order on September 12th. On this date, HTC plans to reveal the full specifications of their new headset and release media previews for the device.

Right now, not much is known about HTC's upcoming headset, aside from a few design changes. For starters, Vive Cosmos is designed to offer a combined resolution of 2880x1700 and utilise "real RGB displays" instead of AMOLED screens. This represents an 88% increase in screen resolution over the original Vive. Other changes include a 40% boost in lens clarity over the original HTC Vive, a move which will help get the most out of the headset's new high-resolution screens.

The price is unknown and will most likely be announced on Sept 12th. I am hopeful the better resolution will result in a better VR product.
